We know sleep is so important, but it doesn't always come easily - and when we start worrying that we won't get enough, that keeps us awake! So why not try this simple practice of counting backwards to distract your mind from worries, and give yourself the best chance of a restful night.

Great reminder
As someone semi new to Aura this session was a great reminder that it takes practice to train your mind/body to relax and drift off to sleep without overthinking and that even if I do start to think i can just start over and eventually get there.

Counting Backwards
This is actually a very useful one for me, my mind always wonders at night and sometimes it’s so bad I can’t sleep. This will help calm my mind when I need it. Also if it works for helping me sleep I hope it will help come me down when I’m having an anxiety attack

To let things go
You can’t change the situation so if you are worried about something it’s better to let go your thoughts because when you think to much you get overwhelmed with your thoughts and it is important to take your mind off.

Final countdown
Now that I have your attention with that very catchy song from the 80’s, it can be quite difficult to drift off to sleep nowadays, what with what’s going on in our daily lives & the whole world. These things can, definitely, make us anxious & lose sleep. I’ve never had difficulty drifting away to dreamland because that’s my haven; what I can do advise is to look for comfortable positions to sleep in. There’s a need to change the bedsheets? Do so! Your body will thank you for it. You need to get new pillows because the old ones are moldy? Do so! Your body will thank you for it. Remember that when you have organization in the things that YOU CAN control, your mind can rest well, & your body will be at ease.

Counting Backwards
Counting backwards is simple yet distracting from more complex thoughts. I counted down from 10 and imagined a rhythmic wave as my breathe.

this mediation is almost perfect, i would just make it slightly longer, and fix the audio so her S's don't sound so sharp :)

I am feeling frustrated that I sleep in 2/3 hour chunks
I learned that my mind still wanders. I need to practice more and worry less!
