Why I created this meditation
When my mind is racing and it feels like the ticking clock is my worst enemy, I can so easily forget that I have the power to choose. I can actually choose to focus on one thing at a time, which makes me so much more efficient! And then I realize that I have all the time in the world to get everything done that I need to. That's why I wanted to make this meditation. It's training for having a single focus in our lives as we move from task to task. From a recovering multi-tasker, this was an important shift I had to make! I'm hoping it is helpful for you all too, Aura friends.

After completing this meditation, I seem to have calmed down a bit. My mind and my body aren’t feeling overwhelmed and aching. This is a place I really want to learn to live from.

I really needed to learn that I can choose to focus my attention at anytime. I live with a chronic illness and have much trouble with anxiety. Also my mother who I do not have a relationship with is in the hospital for the third time in six months. She will not see me even though I have tried. I needed to learn this. I will continue to use focus on my breath to help take away my thoughts of the things I cannot control.

I'm learning that the more you practice keeping focus on your breathing the easier it becomes to keep that focus and not let your mind wonder. I struggled with this at first I've always been not only a over thinker, but also a multi-thinker. Thinking 10 things at once. Which is really exhausting and overwhelming. Now I am able to block all of that out even if just for 5 minutes. But let me tell you that 5 minutes a day makes a world of difference 🙏🏻

I learned that I can choose where I would like to focus my energy. Today I also that when I cannot sleep, catastrophe will not happen, even if that's what first pops into my mind. Yes, I may be uncomfortable, but a day has never ended catastrophically when i didn't have enough sleep. The emotions will happen but I can accept them and move on.

I got to use this at work and focus on my breath during a chaotic moment at work and it was so grounding and clearing for me! It was a very empowering moment for me! Focusing on my breath is very much a grounding and enlightening moment. It very true that where you focus is where your energy will go. Paraphrasing what she said in the meditation 😊

It felt like I was witnessing a miracle. You got them all to come out of themselves! People who haven’t even said one word in weeks were smiling, singing and talking to the person next to them. God bless you young lady, you have a gift!”

As I was about to meditate there were a bunch of sirens right outside my home. Turns out there is an apartment fire right across the street from me. There are a lot of sounds and a lot of excitement going on around here. How interesting, this meditation, that helps me to choose my focus on my own breath rather than all of the excitement going on around me.

Wonderful Wednesday 6-27-18
As I entered this meditation, I closed my eyes and sat up straight. My breathing immediately went into a calming emotion. I could hear the thing go on around me in the quiet room. I could feel the pain in my body. I’ve been busy with chores all morning and my mind is looking at others. I’m not a superhero to just get everything done in one day like I’d like to but I’d settle for breathing right now. Thank you, Aura. Have a nice day Everyone!😀

I have agency with my thoughts! If I allow myself to notice the breadth of things occurring at a given moment, it allows me to choose my focus. The breath acts as an anchor for that, always there, always unique. With its help, I can better tolerate stresses, notice joys, and live my life mindfully

I’ve gotten so used to these women’s accents that when this one has an accent like mine I was surprised. This meditation is excellent because it gives instruction for focusing on the breath and noticing places in your body which I like. It asks you to name your distractions which makes it difficult not to think about them, but overall I enjoyed my experience!

Despite an early start & very hectic day, I Choose to pause for an afternoon Aura break and I am glad I did! After acknowledging all the things vying for my time, I listened & choose to redirect my attention to my Breathe and WOW!! Time slowed down, my breathing became easier, calmer, & deeper. My mind cleared as my to-do list drifted off to somewhere else. Checked out my body and it was already feeling better too. Then she dropped in the simple wisdom nugget of ... no matter how we are feeling we can always Choose to Focus on our breathe! Because... And then she threw my own phrase back at me, “Where Focus Goes, Energy Flows!” Haha spot on! and now I feel great and ready to call my to do list back and ‘get er done!’ Glad I Choose to take a 3 min break (ok 10 with the posting) and admit I was feeling stressed!! ❤️☮️🍀

Positive effect
Trying to just focus on breath, taking in all that extra fresh oxygen and exhaling deeply had a positive effect on me. I am feeling pain in different parts of my body this morning so this meditation was very helpful. The pain is still there but it’s not affecting me or my mood in a negative way like it was before I started this meditation. 🙏

Very relaxing and nice way to start the day as long as you aren’t very stressed to start with. It’s a mild and easy way to relax more, but may not be enough if you are very stressed. However, it does help relax some no matter what.

I felt that I can control what to focus on. With this meditation I liked how you instructed me to go in rather than focus on the surroundings sounds out. When I focused on the out I could hear birds and my fan, however, once directed towards the breath I could hear and feel the breath more.

This meditation has us bring our attention to our breath. It gives us a gentle reminder that we have the power within ourselves where we want to focus our attention on. It is simply a choice we can make each and every moment. If thoughts or experiences occur that we deem as negative, we have two choices. We can choose to allow the negativity to poison our minds, which will negatively impact our overall well-being or we can choose to focus our attention on something that will be beneficial to our overall well-being, such as choosing our breath. By focusing our attention on our breath, we immediately become mindful of the present moment, making us calm and centered. It gives us time to reflect on the experience and perhaps, change the way we look and feel about it. Indeed, if we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change! This practice is great. My Mind was distracted by both work duties and personal matters that I am feeling I need to address all at once! This practice reminded me I can chose what l focus on! I felt the air through my nose and going throughout the body.
I noticed how powerful the mind is. I was laser focused in the exercise paying attention to the breath of cool air coming into my body. Filling it. Nurturing it. Watering the body. Feeding the body with essential air. The distractions were not there while I focused on the breath. I feel like all the weight on my shoulders were lifted. I felt clarity. Felt light. At that moment, the pain was gone. Feels so much refreshing.
