Speaking in the progressive tense
Sometimes it really bugs me when (I think it is Lindsey) speaks in what I think is the progressive tense. Instead of saying "place your hands on your stomach' for example, she says "placing your hands on your stomach." The other day I had to stop listening. Today was fine. I am wondering what others think.

As the summer comes to and end. It's just a reminder that time as, I understand it keeps moving forward. Relaxed after a stressful morning
The position I chose to be in for this session was not conducive to a breathing exercise. I will not choose to be in this position again when using Aura. Otherwise, I enjoyed concentrating on my breathing patterns again. I believe that these concentrated sessions are relaxing and aiding me to still my thoughts and to cope with my day in new ways.

Piece of pie is something we’ve all heard time and time again. When referring to something that should normally be easy or not difficult. Finding peace at times isn’t as easy or a piece of pie... but once you find your slice of the peace pie, you devour it up and then take another space of your time to grab another slice... I have to remember to take my own slices and share what I can from there.

Probabilities and the present moment
I want you to stop just for a second and think about all the probabilities of things that could happen tomorrow. I can think for example that it will rain or that perhaps it will be sunny, maybe the sun wont even come out and maybe the clouds will begin to be squares and not fluffy. These are all probabilities, and they are indeed infinite. But having all of these probabilities think of how you are where you are, sitting somewhere perhaps in a room or a garden, wearing blue or white shirt and you are living in new york or guatemala. Now narrowing down all of this probablities think of how important is your moment here and now. How between all the things that could happen you are where you are, doing the things that you do, being the person you are, and most important just being. How can we not treasure the present moment when so many things can be different? How can we not treasure the present moment when is the only certainty we have? So many options, yet there you are.

Turning away from the chaos
It's so easy to get caught up in my racing mind, and to get buried by worries, and eventually having these worries turn into full blown anxiety. But, this meditation taught me that, it's even easier to create a space where I can come back, reset, and breathe. It amazes me how much mental power I truly have, how I can take my inner steering wheel and turn towards calmer waters in moments of mental chaos.

This morning my wife suggested we meditate together. I usually practice alone. We did our session and it was just as good if not better than when I do it by myself. It’s nice to build a connection with ourselves and with each other. What’s better than being present? Being present with your partner!!

Spotlighting my breathing made it clear that my attention is a different part of me that my thoughts. Attention feels like a thinking part of my being and seems to require my mind, but it’s definitely a different part of me than what generates my thoughts. Lesson learned.
You know at first I thought I didn’t like this one. I thought all the silence with the background noise of my uber driver on the phone in high traffic (lol) made me even more anxious in the moment. But now that the seven minutes are done I actually feel pretty good and less anxious so maybe I like it after all. I guess I have to learn to accept those noises and environmental stimulation at all times and just focus inward instead of allowing it to contribute to my anxiety.

I’m finding that learning to be comfortable with silence is the best way for me to acknowledge the things that are on my mind, notice them, and then let them go. In allowing myself some sacred time and space, I’m able to be really honest with myself, and in turn, identify and no longer dwell on things that aren’t truly important to me 💕

Unwinding
I have felt strung so tight all day and have been unable to loosen my grip on what’s been happening around me, inside and outside. My celiac disease is not yet controlled and at times I find it difficult to calm my body. I listened to this just a few moments ago and I could feel myself unwinding. Perfect for beginners
Being new to meditation, I felt that 7 minutes seemed like it was going to be way too long. However, in the moment, I was fully engaged in focusing on my breathing and allowing my mind to wonder a bit. The minutes passed quickly and I felt more relaxed after the session.
