Beautiful meditation to begin the day with. Jiva has you breathing in kindness for yourself and breathing out kindness for another. On your out breath, Jiva recommends choosing something like a plant or animal if that is easier for you. I immediately thought of my best friend to send kindness to. Then towards the end I thought of sending kindness out into the world. Sending kindness and well wishes to all of you today.❤️🤗

I chose my mom as the other person to breath out kindness for. I recently sent her this app because it has really helped with my stress and anxiety. I love thinking of breathing in kindness throughout the day and breathing it out for other, I will try to take that with me throughout my day.

It was quite relaxing, but I’m very tired, and I can’t lie down right now.
I learned that deep breaths don’t come naturally for me. This is a practice that would certainly not only help me in stressful situations but might possibly help to avoid getting into them so often.

Breathing slowly and focusing with my eyes closed is difficult for me because I have trouble focusing on one person or thing. My mind wanders too much and I can’t stay focused on anything. It took me until near the end of the three minutes to fully focus.

Post meditation reflection
I noticed that my visualization of who I wanted to “breath out kindness for” kept shifting and I wasn’t able to focus on one particular person. This is something that often happens with meditating and I think improving my focus is something I need to work on in general. I ended up having a difficult time overall visualizing the breathing in/out of kindness but I still got some deep breathing and tranquility this morning which is awesome.

When was the last time I extended kindness to myself?
I learned that I don’t stop and extend kindness to myself enough throughout the day. This was a wonderful practice to remember to be kind to myself. To allow for flaws and weakness because I am human.

I can still have inner peace. Erik brings me much joy. I’m not sure what I’m doing without goals to work towards... but immediate needs are more pressing. I must address the immediate concerns then I can look towards the future.

I felt a bit distracted mentally; I was sitting in the central room of my house, so there was a bit of noise coming from all around me. I switched people in my mind while breathing out, not for any particular reason but it just happened. I’m not beating myself up for it, though, for “not meditating correctly,” & I think that’s a positive.

This meditation afforded me to think of a person I wanted to send kindness to. Well I thought of my grown niece who has a difficult time fitting herself into this world. My daughter who thought she liked her, does not care for her now. My niece lived with us for 6 months and we found out that she is not a good fit for us. She can be upsetting and careless with her words. I However, want to stay in touch with her and asked her to go out to lunch with me. I don’t drive and my daughter will drop me off at her place. I am waiting for her to call me as she had things to do. She is not allowed to come back to our home. That’s an understanding between her and my daughter and her spouse. I felt I needed to send kindness to her and I hope she will call when she is ready to see me.
