Do you sometimes feel that you are the only one having a difficult day, or struggling with a challenging emotion? In this meditation, you will bring your awareness to the throngs of people around you who are just like you – doing their best to handle what is coming up for them emotionally as they navigate their day. As you breathe in connection with them and breathe out compassion, you will feel more solidarity with others around you – and more compassion for yourself as well. Photo by Shane Rounce on Unsplash
Just because you have feelings that you feel may be stuck within you doesn't mean you are alone, we are all having the same human experience regardless which form it takes. It makes me feel less alone.
We're all in this together
A calming start for the day. Encouragement to empathise. Great.
Let us all find love in every detail we do. In every smile and every breath. Good morning. :)
Love and peace are the essential pillars to move forward in life
Full Day Made Fuller
After a day filled with working, connecting, and general busyness, this meditation helped me reflect on it all and improved my experience and memory of the day, helping me live happier into the future.
When your focussed on your own problems you feel like the only one in the world when in fact everyone around you as the same thoughts and feelings at some point
I was reminded to have love and compassion for people because they're going through similar struggles as I am.
Breathe in love exhale compassion
I loved this experience. I can feel the love flowing in and out of me. Be safe while watching the solar eclipse today. Blessings to all.
I'm reminded that you've sinned just as much as me, and so, you are like me: Weak and Helpless when alone, Strong and Powerful when together.
Breathe in the connection we have as broken images of God.
Breathe out compassion towards our fellow sinners for our struggles against evil desires.
I have a hard time receiving compassion and loving kindness from others. It was much easier to send love outwards. When turning it inward I felt my stomach tighten and it was as if there was a wall in front of my heart blocking me from receiving their compassion.
Can anyone relate with this? Open to suggestions for opening my heart.
This meditation brought me a sense of community and love- that I'm not alone and we are all connected. The love I have in my heart can be shared and felt with others around me. This meditation left me feeling an overwhelming sense of love and peace.
So much to do
I learned that in spite of being overwhelmed I am still breathing
We're all together
I learned that we are all together fighting personal battles.....everyone...no one is above this fight. So never be in the dark alone with your battles.
It is super important for me to remember that people around me at work that I might even be afraid of, are also having their struggles in life and for me to feel good and to sent good wives to them, I should remember to feel connected to them every day
Connection and compassion
It's very relaxing to learn that it's easy to dedicate 3 minutes in a day for meditation. I'm super relaxed and my mind is at peace.
I'm not alone
Everyone has empathy somewhere in their hearts and we're all experiencing joy, sadness, fear, anger, pain together
There is a higher connection between each and everyone of us.
This connection must be there for society to flourish and advance into higher dimensions. For an example. The main human mind frame. Now where can that beeeee?!.
Give and ye shall receive
You get back whAtever you put in and then some. It's good to remember that you're actions aren't going unnoticed
We all are connected by common experiences and emotions. We come together in our victories, our defeats. We must breathe out compassion to build a stronger human connection. We are one.
I as always go back to the saying be the change you want to see in the world
With this meditation it saddens me that I forget how easy it is to lose human connection. However saying just like me and receiving such a feel of a two way receiving and giving it hurts in a good way that my soul is better and wiser than my mind and body . For the change is when pointing finger at something thinking that's the problem honestly three fingers of you own point back to the real source and focus need to be on how you yourself personally doing/not doing to correct it within yourself
Get back to the kindness that helps bind people together. Realize everyone is working toward something and try to get to the root of what they want/need.
I give love... I accept love
Imaginining giving love (made of connection and compassion) makes receiving love easy, natural, real...
Just like me
I learned that my work colleagues are not listening to my advice. But I feel compassion for them and the stress they are under. And now I trust they will feel compassion for me and the stress I will be under if the project doesn't get started immediately
Connection and Compassion
At the end of the day, it's all about how you perceive things. A positive mindset and attitude makes the biggest difference. Choose to communicate in a healthier manner, and this will help you, as well as others.
Had a wonderful time visualizing with this meditation. I definitely Fell into a deeper, more hypnotic state then usual.
Live life in a way that makes death jealous
No matter what, death will always be lurking in the shadows. Waiting to proclaim what is inevitable. You cannot stop it, but you can make life worth it.
Everyone is going through something so being kind to people even to strangers does make a big step to making their day somewhat better ❤️
On my back there is perception that perfects my inside my being is outside but I am being always everywhere
We can rarely control what life throws at us, so we must do our best to leverage the lessons life gives us an opportunity to learn.
Just like me. I hope to carry this message throughout my day and throughout my time living this life.
This is what teachers go through almost every day trying to be compassionate to our students. Trying to connect with what they are experiencing.
A Welcoming Day 10-22-17
I really liked this meditation because for once it focused on others and not myself. I do anyways because I wear my heart on my sleeve but it really gave me the opportunity to pray for my uncle who has cancer, my friend who is sore, my parents with financial woes, one of my best friends having to make a difficult decision to move to Alaska (far away from everyone), etc. blessing to those who need it. Have a good day!
I find it much easier to feel compassion for others than I think they feel it for me. I have a tender heart and automatically extend compassion to others
Sadly, Connectedness is sometimes challenging, and I get discouraged thinking that so few people really care beyond my very small circle.
I like the idea of expanding my idea of connection to them as I feel compassion for them. And I will try to be more assured that they care for and connect with me. It’s a much more hopeful state of awareness and existence. Perhaps I have been stingy in my assessment of the goodness of others.
When I started meditation I saw it as a 'self' practice. A practice of being centered and aware of yourself and your being. This exercise opened my mind to the wholeness meditation truly has to offer. It's filling to breathe and say "just like me". We are all human but we've become strangers; I enjoyed this meditation for reminding me to connect to the people around me. Send out love and receive love.
Connection & Compassion
Feeling grateful for human connection and empathy. This short meditation allowed for thinking of other people's hurts and struggles, and connecting with "just like me". Then, think about other people sharing their love and compassion back. I'm feeling more aware of people and the connections I'll be making today.
Spirtually speaking having ruminations are a spiritual attack on the mind that robs you of your peace of mind and victory. Negative thoughts are supposed to be identified and captured so they don’t take root and cause you stress and create negative outcomes.
Warmth of love
Embracing the warmth and care that we can provide to others. The passionate feelings we experience daily and sharing them with those around us who need it most.
I am thankful for the love shown towards me. Embrace the present
This meditation felt as though a weight had been lifted. It was important to be reminded that others are going through the ups and downs of life just as I am. At the same time, I should allow others to be with me as I navigate my own ups and downs. I feel much more grounded in reality, while also feeling lighter and perhaps better supported.
By connecting with others, I used to feel like they didn’t truly care but that was because I didn’t know how to take in their “compassion exhale” but now that I’ve learned to take in my own “compassion exhale” it is easier to connect with others.
I no longer feel as if it is me against the world, that everyone around me is going through the exact same thing, and we all need to be there for one another
Everyone around you is a natural support system. It may feel like the end of the world in your eyes, but people all around you are going through their own obstacles. We need to be able to see the goodness and people and be kind always.
I think I can’t let go of my guard yet, though the connection is there even if it feels like it’s loading on a 56k
I am not alone
This meditation helped me see that I am not alone in my feelings of pain and sadness, even though my mind tells me no one understands what I am feeling right now. I feel like there’s a wall between me and people sometimes when communicate. Someone asked me how my day was today and I just stared at them; so wrapped up in my own head and so unable to reach reality with the simple words “it was okay.” This meditation was exactly what I needed
Start with connection and end with compassion
I learned that, connecting yourself with your surroundings and understanding what and who is around and how you feel about it you can decide to react with compassion.
Breathe in and make a connection with those around you. Breathe out compassion to those around you. We are all human, with feelings and emotions. Everyone could use more compassion and hope.
Just like me
I often think that no one understands how I feel, but if I am able to feel empathy for others it makes sense that others should be able to feel empathy for me. I will change my perspective and make a renewed effort to be open to the people around me to give them a better chance to understand where I am coming from and our common ground. Namaste
Breathe in Connection...
We are all connected through breathe and could be through compassion.
Bent like genuflecting monks
the trees carry their glistening coats
the air is still
a cardinal lands in the snow
People go through things to and you have to give compassion in every situation Bc we are all human and we all have problems
Sometimes you feel as if you are the only one giving compassion but when you take a step back and look at everyone as a whole it becomes less stressful and less overwhelming and you become more aware of the struggles everyone has and realize the differences between one another are not as big as your mind makes it out to be
I learned that repeating certain words while breathing if very calming my for me.
Preparing for acts of service
This was a wonderful meditation to do prior to volunteering during Martin Luther King day of service. I will be working with neighbors and community service projects. I will keep this meditation in mind as I interact with others.
I learned that it’s important to remember others are human just like me and have struggles and daily trials just like I do. Breathing in that connection to them helps me to feel normal and not like I’m a person who is struggling unjustly. It creates a sense of companionship with mankind. #justlikeme
Vulnerability and Love
Sometimes my anxiety and my past keep me from connecting with others. I turn inward and shut myself off from those around me because then I don’t have to push through the anxiety. But that’s not what brings me real happiness. True happiness is lifting others and allowing them to lift me. Vulnerability is love, and allowing others into my heart is a form of vulnerability that can increase my ability to love.
We all have a story to tell
As humans, we are all so close but distant. By connecting with another human heart, walking a mile in their shoes (even through a brief exchange), we can open ourselves to even more love and kindness.
What a wonderful feeling this morning to feel loving connection and kindness with others as I breath
Just like me
This is a bit beyond me right now. I’m grateful for the thought to utilize when around others in traffic or waiting in a line. I look forward to the change in me as I replace my old disconnected thoughts with the just like me thought. 💭 Thank you 🙏🏻
Just like me
I grateful for the new thought I can use when standing in line lane or in traffic. I look forward to the change thinking just like me.
I learned that I’m not always as alone as I think I am. Other people struggle with similar things in life and being open to that connection can possibly help me to feel better.
Sometimes I forget that other people are going through stuff too. This just really helped remember to treat everyone with compassion.
Breathing in connection and out compassikn
Everyone is experiencing there own downfalls and joys in life, just as we are. We can extend our compassion to them in there times of need and our excitement for them in times of success.
As I meditated, I felt like a sense of unity. My heart grew heavy as I started to exhale compassion. I used to be more compassionate when I was younger, but as I got hurt I started to care less. This meditation video definitely helped me reconnect with myself and to have a heart of compassion and love for others. I will definitely keep practicing this.
I’m never slone
There us always someone out there that is feeling the same way/going through the same thing I am; I am truly never alone.
in connection & out compassion
I learned that there are people just like me that have problems too, and to realize that I am not alone.
My favorite so far.
Putting yourself in someone else’s shoes can take a huge weight out of your shoulders by realizing YOU ARE NOT ALONE.❤️
Pairing emotions with breathing helps me visualize putting positive emotions into action. We all long for connection.
breathe in connection 2.21.18
breathe in connection, breathe out compassion - everyone is going through their own struggles. just because i’m struggling doesn’t mean those around me aren’t, and it’s impossible to say that one person is struggling more than another. I need to keep that in mind.
I want to do this meditation keep this meditation for when I am feeling alone and not wanting to reach out for support.
I am not alone
I sometimes get so lost in my own head, thoughts or emotions that I forget about others who may feel or be going through exactly the same. I forget to connect with the wealth of humanness and support all around me.
Just. Like. Me.
Others feel pain, just like I do. Just because I don't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Connection & compassion
We all feel the same emotions, which while you’re feeling your own, can be isolating. But remembering that emotion is a very basic human experience, we are all connected by a thread of experienced empathy.
Just like me
Humanity is just like me and I just like them. Breathing in this connection left a very warm and tingling feeling throughout my body.
Note to sel
Remember that you’re not the only one having a bad day / rough patch.
I learned that I am not alone in the way that I feel, and no matter what Im feeling no matter how impossible it seems, Im not the only one going through it
Just Like Me
I learned to think about others in a way that doesn’t convey negative energy, but spreads positivity and love because other people are so different but so similar to me. They are nothing like me, but just like me at the same time. And everyone deserves to feel loved. ❤️
I need to remember that, just like me, people have bad days and great days. They have stress and anxiety in their life just like me. I need to be more compassionate and more sincere to people because I never know what that person might be going through.
i became hungry but felt a warm sensation in my soul .... i was there with the people i had imagined and became one with the earth
Empathy is the ability to feel the weight of other people’s struggles on your shoulders as well as your own. Everybody supports you and feels your pain as you do theirs. Don’t give up becuase those people are behind you and are helping you throughout your life.
I do not like acknowledging my heart beat
The feeling of the pounding heart is uncomfortable and makes me feel uneasy body pulse is abnormal feeling to me that make me feel anxious
Breathe out compassion
As I took a breath of connection and released a breath of compassion, I began to remind myself that I am not alone in my struggles. I am not alone in my joy. The people around me feel these same emotions. They are as human as I am.
Breath in Connection
I loved the concept of breathing in connection and breathing out compassion. ♥️
Breath in Connection
I remembered that we are all souls going through and experiencing the same human journey. We all have a story, we all have our own struggles. Recognizing and being compassionate is what connects us. Because we all do yearn for that connection. I know i do.
What a nice session! I saw the people I was with today in a new light. We were more connected and my flow of compassion for them was pouring over them and they were loving it. Then the combined flow came back from all of them and washed over me making me feel clean, loved and wanted... quite pleasant indeed! I need to try this in traffic next week!
Breathing connection heightened my awareness but also heightened my desire in lifting the pain and struggles of others.
Connecting with others
I learned that everyone around us, especially those we tend to make our “background characters” or the extras in the movie that is our life, are all very real individuals with their own hopes, dreams, struggles, and triumphs. The more I can do to connect with all of these people I normally wouldnt, the better the world around me can potentially be
I love this meditation! Even the most stressful situations can be allayed by remembering that the people around us have their own joys and hopes, struggles and fears. Connecting to that realization with the breath is very powerful.
I learned that the people around me are dealing with the same things that I am dealing with in my life. I realized that I only think about my feelings. I’m not alone though, others are feeling too. I’ve learned that I should not just center my thoughts only upon myself.
I realized that being patient with people is probably the most compassionate way you could treat them. Life is happening to everyone; and there’s always someone who has it harder than you do. Love, patience and understanding💕
Anytime I have a negative thought, I crush it with a positive thought, and I speak it out loud to affirm it. Works every time.
Words are seeds. And a seed only yields after it’s kind.
