As we age and ultimately get busy with the hustle and bustle of life, we often forget that our body continues to breathe in the background. Taking some time to mindfully connect with our breath, we quickly notice where we feel our breath in our body and how powerful an effect it has on our body and mind.
Sitting on a bench in my backyard, I dropped down into my body and began noticing where I felt my breath the most. Bringing my awareness immediately to my belly, I felt slowly expanding and contracting of it with each breath. Receiving vitality on my inhale and relaxation on my exhale, I quickly noticed the calming effects on my body and mind. Ahhh....I feel good! Expanding my awareness to include my environment, I noticed the sounds and the wind gently brushing up against my skin. Feeling rejuvenated by this breath reset, I am ready to bring on the day!
