'Balance' is a state of being that we choose. In this Meditation, discover how to mindfully assess what is happening around you and still focus your mind on what you are choosing to focus on. Let the spaces (pauses) between the inhalation and the exhalation be what you bring your attention to. The space between your inhalation and exhalation is the space in which you find and live in 'balance'. Notice how beautiful and easy it is to bring your attention back into the present moment - and to how you feel - now.
Noticing the pauses between breaths reminds me that I am both empty and ready to receive and full and ready to give thousands of times per day. Always.
A simple yet absolutely perfect exercise in mindfulness and clarity I will try to include this in my daily thinking.
I liked it
It made much more calmer and relaxed. I'll try to do it as much as I can throughout the day!
Staying in the Inbetween
Noticing the second(s) between each breath for the first time. Will come back to those in moments of chaos to find peace and balance.
Why is the pause shorter in the inhale and longer pause in the exhale?i
Coming back to the seconds, the milliseconds our soul is free to just be, the moments our body isn't actively engaged.
In the situation that I am in right now, I need to accept the fact that I cannot change how people think and do. It's all up to them.
It's 01:11 in the morning and I can't sleep. My alarm is set for 06:15. I wish to get up at that time without having to snooze. I'm not stressed. I just can't fall asleep. I will use this meditation to better my mental state💪
Focus on balance
Today has been amazing and using this app just added to it. Learning to shift what I focus my attention to can make all of the difference in the world. Catching myself throughout the day and focusing on my breathing is what I will accomplish this week.
3min of simple concentration seems longer
Stopping for a short period gives a longer impression and a calming effect
I'm 12 and trying to do an experiment for my guidance counselor
Once you meditate everything seems to light and kind on extra sensitive if you know what I'm saying. I feel so calm. For my first time I feel like I did pretty well at not getting distracted.
Taking a moment, focusing on my breathing and the spaces in between help me to feel calm and composed - ready to face the day and embrace it's enormous possibilities.
Mindfulness Day 2
The space in between my breath is just as important as my actual breath; it is there that I find balance. Return often.
I’ve done other medication in school and through apps. This session was calming. Simple. And afterwards I have this nice feeling. It’s hard to describe but it’s good. Thanks.
Paying attention to the space
I found so much comfort in the spaces in between my breath. The space also made me a little bit nervous, especially the space in between the guided voice. This made me realize how comfortable I have become with noise and movement, which leaves me feeling less grounded. I am glad this meditation pointed out the benefits of seeking that silent, unoccupied space, and I want to work toward embracing that space more often.
Trying out new ways to start habits. Looking forward to how this turns out!
Today is a Great productive day
I'm in balance with every breath I take
I can feel being in balance in each pause between each breath ..
Breath Meditation for feeling in Balance
I learned that the space between exhalation and inhalation shows our balance. Focussing attention on those spaces will help us attain balance. We should do this often.
It was so nice to have something to focus on that small space. It’s so beautiful how our body works. I will definitely be taking the time throughout my day to focus on my balance. It’s so clearing.
Balance between chaos
Finding those in between moments of stillness that creates a floating sensation and providing a balance between chaos and calmness, work and life, sadness and happiness. Being able to sit with those holds was everything today.
There's a difference between breathing in your nose and out your nose and breathing in your nose and out your mouth. In a sense you feel like you're holding your breath and you get distracted by just trying to breathe. But if you exhale out your mouth, there's a steady flow and helps you better focus on just breathing. Closing your eyes and breathing is so simple but can help focus so much better.
Noticing the gaps and being the gaps in our breath. The stillness and calm in those tiny moments are a huge gift.
A nice way to take a break
I found this an effective attention-holding meditation but I think that I would get bored if I tried to do it frequently - a little at a time every now and then when I need a mental break sounds good though.
Sleep perchance to dream
Tiredness and mindfulness sometimes aren't compatible with the former interfering with the latter. Ah well! Don't forget to turn your clocks back folks. Sweet dreams.
Great way to wind down
Lovely great way to relax and rest I will put this on in the bath tomorrow x
Taking deep slow breaths
I learned that Breathing Mediation for feeling good inside helps me relax my mind and body. It makes your day better.💞
Didn’t get it
Even though I understood the overall aspect of this meditation, the only thing I experienced during the gap between inhalation and exhalation was a gap., nothing more. I didn’t experience balance of any sort. Sorry, this didn’t do much for me.
Between the inhalation and exhalation is balance. Being guided to focus inward while my body is in such a calm state really helped me reach a level of inner "quietness" that I sometimes have trouble reaching. I will surely put this lesson to use in my future meditations.
I learned that
I need to take some time to feel the nothing . Take some time to feel my own breathing
I learned that the space between in breath and out breath is where you find balance. I should do this more often.
The space... the voice...
The space is so important to me... it brings calm, serenity, clarity, freedom, optimism and, yes, balance into my life. Also, I really like the voice in this meditation. Thank you! 😊
There's a an hour anyone time and place or spacebar thought better thought not
The balance is pretty powerful
This lesson really caught my attention. Maybe I was just in the right mood for it, but right at the end when she said good job, I ended up crying. I had really felt that moment in between inhaling and exhaling, and was just winding up... Felt great. Thank you.
It’s okay I guess
Didn’t feel that different before I tried it but overall it was good
Well it definitely made me feel more relaxed. My mind was a bit of a wanderer today but I still feel good.
All I can say is “wow.”
The combination of this practice, focusing on the pause between breathes and Dorothy’s voice were so soothing on this Monday morning and with this, I am in the mindset to go forth with my day. Thank you. Namaste.
I need to focus on the space.. it’s peaceful and brings me back to reality.
It doesn’t feel all that natural to feel comfortable in that space as it almost feels forced. I’m not sure what to do but the breathing overall did relax me.
Turning Tuesday 12-12-17
This meditation focused on balanced. At first, I had a real hard time trying to focus but then something happened and all will see who will listen and it’s amazing. Balancing is so important in our lives and taking just a moment and reflecting makes a world of difference. I was waiting in my car for someone and just heard Nature, traffic, people, foot traffic, horns, etc. it was nice just to reflect and balance. Have a nice day, Everyone!😄
Maintaining balance can only be achieved by focusing the mind. Being aware of all that surrounds the mind, while bringing sharp focus to one aspect of that awareness, is how to focus, and free, the mind.
The space between your inhale and exhale is the space you find balance
Live for now
We need to take each moment one at a time and really sink into each experience. Put your mind into whatever you are doing. Yes, you will think about the past or the future inevitably, but what is important is now.
Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth, as well as focusing on the pauses between breathing in and letting it out is very relaxing
I can breathe and just let love flow in my life. That with taking breaths and thinking about what I have done and how I can bring forth peace.
I learned how to find the space between my inhalation and exhalation during breathing. Being present in the moment was something new to me, but something I enjoyed!
Taking 3 minutes to focus on stillness feels refreshing.
It’s often hard for me to step back and focus on my breathing, but noticing the little moments between inhaling and exhaling helped me.
I learned that concentrating on my breathingCan help me escape my present struggles. Mind over matter
Peak and valley
I learned that the pause I do between my inhalation and exhalation symbolizes life in all its ups and downs, peaks and valleys. And only in these moments we pause, we get the opportunity to balance.
Day 1: Finding the balance
I learned that finding the balance frequently during your day will greatly relieve stress be able to return you to a calm and balanced state.
I learned that living in the space between inhalation and exhalation can bring your thoughts back to what is important.
Those moments between the silence - precious silence, deep pools of quiet. Often sought but seldom found it reminds me of those moments in childhood as you are enveloped by water, floating on your back and staring into the indigo sky. Your ears plugged with water, the swell gently rocking your body and the sun warming you. Alone but surrounded in life, part of the whole but seperate.
That balance point between breathes is always there waiting for me to discover it and take advantage of it. I just need to calm down for a moment and refocus on it to regain balance in my life,..,
Wow, that’s almost too simple!
My intention is to try it 5 times today!
Another great meditation, Dorothy. I was focusing on the break between the exhalation and inhalation and it was consistently one second. It was easy and comfortable. I was relaxed. However, my eyelids started to flutter after a couple of minutes into the session which was kind of distracting. I’ll have to work on that part. 🙏
When I breath in attention and out I think about what I have done wrong in life and could do much to bring in my peace
Focusing on breathing every once in a while actually really is so relaxing
We can do it. Don’t stop, don’t get lazy. Don’t be complacent.
This was very relaxing! I loved that focus during the pause!
Every day a little better, a little more focused, a little more present
The space between the inhalation and the exhalation is the place where we exist in balance. Return there often.
I learned that focusing on breathing can be way to calm me down. The more I do this exercise the less anxious I think I'll become.
I learned that through breathing I am daring to practice more long meditation. Love is all we need and breath move our energy.
Even Breath takes a break
Interesting to think of breath not aa a continuum but with an involuntary break of emptiness after each inhale and exhale. An opportunity with every breath. Namaste.
“Time space gaps”
Now after learning of these moments I could actually feel and by the end of the meditation they were slightly more pronounced.
I shouldn’t hold my breath
Sometimes I hold my breath. This meditation is one I want to do again and again so I keep working on value each part of the breath. I can feel balance in the moment I don’t hold my breath too long.
Trying to conquer the anxiety is hard. I will try again tomorrow. It was very hard to focus today
i learned that there is balance in all things, even when we are simply breathing.
I learned that the pauses between inhale and exhale may be as if not more important than the focus we give on breathing itself
Most of us never live fully in the present, because we are subconsciously believing that the next moment has to be more important than the last...and in doing that, we miss out on life itself. Breathe, and bring yourself back to now...and enjoy! ❤️
Breathing helps balance
Breathing helps balance. Spaces between breathing are spaces and gaps for opportunities
The space between is balance
I love this meditation! She is absolutely right. It is the space between that balance resides. I noticed when I breathe in and pause, I feel fine. When I exhale and pause, I felt panic, tension, and ungrounded. Pretty true for how I am feeling about certain aspects of my life and things going on around me. Groundless and tense about how to proceed. How I can help or make a difference.
This meditation really helped me go deeper. And in such and easy natural way!
The space between
I am so completely relaxed after that meditation! I’ve never given thought to the space between...
Time is valuable
I learned that you can focus on the little things in life when some moments are really stressful or too much. Just keep on breathing. As long as you are breathing you can do everything you want. You can conquer the world.
I feel that I learned that when you focus and relax something or nothing you can see and feel the little things you didn’t know where ever there and you feel a connection which makes you feel your there and happy
I learned that the space between the inhalation and exhalation is where you find your balance. I can use this knowledge to return to my center during my day. The yogis refer to this as equanimity and the Navajo refer to this as walking in beauty. May we all walk in beauty.
Focus on breathing and the pause between inhale and exhale.
That tiny space exists. It’s about being aware and present. That balance is important
Focusing on the pause in my breathing...I found to be very great...It definitely to my mind off of my surroundings for a few minutes...very good session today
It’s easy for me to clear my mind, however during silence it becomes harder. Now I feel relaxed and ready for bed
As I discover more about myself in self reflection, I notice that the trend seems to be the space where nothing exist is where all the difference is made from one moment to the next. Frankl, Covey, etc. all hold the ‘space between’ a sacred. What a great meditation.
When you are between breaths it is our opportunity for balance. It is the quiet spot between the breaths where we can achieve this rest and balance to help us through our busy days. Thank you Dorothy!
Feeling better today
Breathe in & breathe out & relax
I feel really relax & calm today & staying warm being inside & write my journal
I have to just notice my breath instead of trying to control how fast or slow I’m breathing. My body can breath on its own without me thinking or doing anything.
I learned that you gotta find balance in your life and find balance on taking care of yourself.
I learned that the smallest things in our every day lives are the ones that need the biggest attention
I noticed that I need to breathe, life gets so busy that I need to slow down and breathe.
I learned I need balance in my life. To take of me! Focus on myself let go of the negative.
I learned that I cannot control all situations but should adapt.
I felt good about staying in the ‘balance’ space between breaths. It’s been really hard for me usual
I can stay in the balance state instead of getting all worked up over nothing, or how other people are acting at the time. It means a lot to be able to not fall into their own issues, while still experiencing my own.
I need to practice canceling out everything else and focusing on one thing like breathing.
Finding the balance
The balance in your breath is the pauses between inhalation and exhalation. It is in these pauses where we can also achieve balance in life.
I needed this one. I listened to it twice before I could calm down, slow my breathing and begin to feel even a little bit in balance. Thank you Dorothy! 💗
Feeling in Balance
Everything Dorothy teaches is a valuable lesson. Concentration calm and breath !!!!!
I learned that being in the now with my breath is possible in a panicky moment.
A Moment of Peace
To feel in balance means that we are aware of our surroundings, yet we can still focus our attention on the task at hand. In this meditation, the task at hand that we focus our attention on is our breathing, more specifically, the pause between our inhalation and exhalation.
I began to focus on this moment of peace. I found stillness. I found calmness. Most of all, I found balance. I will periodically return my focus to this moment of peace throughout the day to renew balance in the present moment. Namaste! 🙏🏻❤️😊
Take a break at work to find your balance.
Be aware of your breath and your surroundings simultaneously. This is exactly what I need to learn to do consistently, throughout the day not just while meditating. I often catch myself holding my breath and speeding up while eating so I listen to a meditation as I eat. It is possible to chew and breath at the same time. Sounds silly but it really isn’t. Digestion begins in the mouth. Like many things I didn’t really appreciate this fact until I developed severe stomach problems. It’s like learning to ride a bike, it takes lots of practice.
As Dorothy invited me to fully experience the space between my inhalation and exhalation I discovered an unsettling amount of movement there. My body actually experienced a sensation of movement in that pause. It felt like falling to me mostly. Disconcerting. Unwelcome.
I have been feeling so out of balance lately. What a simple way to remind myself.that balance is a process... breath and pause
Finding my balance! What a wonderful way to begin each day! I wish this for everyone. 🙏 🙌🏽💙
A new way to focus
I loved the soothing calm voice of the speaker. I also very much appreciate the new way to bring focus to my breath. I definitely need more balance in life and this is an easy way that will help accomplish this when I’m
Meditating and not.
The space between your inhalation and your exhalation is where you find balance. We can focus our attention on this numerous times a day to help bring us back to the present moment. This session left me feeling calm and centered.
I enjoyed this a lot! It’s a great way to practice patience as well
Peace and serenity
I feel calmer and more settled and grounded after the Balance Meditation.
Finding my way to calmness with the breath and balance to start anew each day
Noticing the pause between our inhalation and exhalation is where we find balance. As I continued to focus on the in between, I could feel myself becoming grounded. Peaceful session to begin my day with.
I've been struggling, lockdown is lonely, things spiral out of control for me, emotionally, this has helped to calm my thoughts, press reset, hoping we all achieve balance today, peace to you all.
Life is Lawfully balanced. This meditation Is a great example of this. Between the Law of Rhythm - high tide follows low tide & exhale follows inhale
And the Law of Opposites - for every up there is a down & for every inhale there is an exhale - we should Be able to recognize that the world is naturally in balance. Thus if we get in tune with It, we will be in balance. Dorothy helps us to do this very simply with our breathe. Life is easier when you are balanced, why not try it today?!? Right now, on you next breathe!?!
I learned that a balance in life is so important and being present in the moment makes a huge impact on your day.
The space between your inhalation and exhalation is where you find balance. Sitting on my couch feeling the warmth of the sunshine on my face, I inhale deeply. Pause. Slowly exhale. I pause again before I take my next inhale. After repeating this a few times, I feel myself becoming grounded. I am returning to my natural state of being which is one of calmness. My intention for the day will be to practice this many times throughout the day when I notice my mind has wandered away from the present moment to bring me back to a state of balance.
First time I’d ever thought of the start and end of the breath being a pause, something about the wording really helped ground me.
Dying to try this out in our company bell tent @emberescapes 🙏 thank you again Dorothy 🧡
Find balance in the pause... it is in the moment that you are truly present. Be there.
