First attempt at meditation/mindfulness
It is the morning after I let myself down. I created a situation in which failure was likely. The person on the other side of this situation made a choice to take care of themselves and I let that affect me. I felt angry and hurt. That person recognized I was not okay and talked to me about it. During this meditation, that's what I was thinking about.

Giving Thanks
On this “Day of Giving Thanks” aka “Thanksgiving Day”, it is easy to be grateful - for good food, our families and friends. It is ‘less easy’ to be grateful, everyday, for these important things. It is downright difficult to be grateful every day for every little thing! My hope is that this meditation is going to help me to become more grateful, for more things, more often, by associating gratitude with breathing. If I could try to think of something to be grateful for with ever breath I take ... WOW... I would totally transform my life into one big Blessing. And my Vibration would become so strong over time, it would affect every thing & every body around me in a positive way... Now that is a beautiful thought!!

I am grateful that my breathing is so easy. For my husband, it was often not easy. He had asthma in childhood and had agonising episodes when he could not breathe. I knew he was dying when his breathing changed.

With all the chaos that surrounds our lives, especially mine in times of hardship, we often forget about the most basic and fundamental parts of our self. Breathing. A simple draw of breath in and a push of air out, we forget how important it is, how powerful it is. We are all so focused on getting where we're going, stupid things like money and popularity and a test score we forget about us. about our skin and blood and breath and bone about actually living. It is a refreshing feeling to reconnect with yourself in a way that doesnt focus on anything but you. right now.

How fortunate are we to have a process that breathes life into us. A life giving practice. One that allows us to wake up every morning, but not paying it any mind. Running in the background. On autopilot. Not ever doing more or less than it needs to do. Consistent, dependable, trustworthy. We rely on it and never question it. All qualities of a true companion. One that never leaves our side...until that one moment that it does.
