This guided meditation uses the image of a wave to help focus the attention on the breath.  Breath sensing is a powerful mindfulness technique to calm and center the mind and body.

Great idea
You gave a completely new meaning to why sea sounds are often in the background of meditations.

Ocean images
As I did this meditation I was overjoyed to be able to place in my mind the ocean waves coming to the shore and then moving back out into the sea. What a wonderful way to end my day.

Just feeling the breath
Visualizing my breath as a wave coming in on a sandy shore, then receding and repeating this imagery helped to free my mind of thoughts. I feel that my mind needs a break now and then. It’s nice not focusing on anything and just feeling the breath. Thanks 🙏 Aura

Hay algo que ocupa un poco de espacio en mi mente a pesar de la distancia y el tiempo. Esa sensación de emoción e ilusión sigue latente, pero ya no duele.

Been a while
Been very preoccupied with school so I haven’t been doing this much. I liked this one a lot. I need to be doing this more because the pressure right now is terrible.

This visualization, like the visualization of being a tree rooted in place, is a helpful way to describe the breath.

An ocean wave
I was an interesting experience to create a rhythm of breathing syncing with the movement of an ocean wave landing on the beach. I’ll do this again.

Finals week
It’s currently finals week and I am going crazy. Last night I had some sort of mental break. I’m okay again now but I can’t wait for all 5 of my finals to be over.

Breath as a Wave
Excellent imagery as my breath came into my body as a gentle wave and receded back on the exhale. Very relaxing

Ocean waves
I found this imagery helpful partially because it’s easy to link the motion of a wave to breathing but also the imagery itself is relaxing to me. The sound of the ocean is probably the most relaxing to me so I’m not surprised thinking of waves as being relaxing too. Does make me miss the ocean though.

I love the imagery
Will definitely use this image in my future! I love the idea of the wave in sync with my breath.

Sleep time is hard.
I learned to feel the wave of breath in my body. I learned to pin point where and how they moved in and out of me and back into the universe. Hopefully tonight I’ll stay with the waves.

Waves 11-5-18
I always enjoy the ocean. It is my happy relaxing rejuvenating place. Visualizing the ocean and breathing with it works for me

Foam
Crashing and swirling the waves pounded the beach, sunlight glinting in its depths, a thousand stars shine back. Curling upon itself the wave creates a simmering blue tunnel and i dive through it, my body skating across its surface, foam sea horses keep pass with me, wild and free we delight in her power. The ocean, bringing of life and devourer of souls, so mysterious, so beautiful but deadly. A gift upon the shore, stones polished, scattered shells, secrets looked in their pearly luminescence. Just one more ride upon the foaming waters, face burnished by the sun, a flick of a tail and into the ocean depths, a new world to discover.

Deadline stress
I have a lot of stress and anxiety regarding a paper due soon. This paper is life changing in a way. I thought the paper was going well and now Im beginning to feel like its all falling apart. I’m scared i don’t have the time to fix it. I’m scared it won’t be good enough. Even when I meditate I see my fears and my mistakes haunting me.

I care about myself
I could really get into this’s practice tonight. I have been working on caring and loving myself just as I am. This practice strengthened the love I have for myself.

Befriending
Great way to deal with unwanted emotions. I love when Lynda points out we are human and having these emotions is completely normal. Accept the emotion. It is not worth fighting against them. Instead let go and accept.

Since I was lying in as comfortable of a position as I could, my mind wandered off less and I could focus much easier.

I am enough
Just as I am. My cracks let the light in. My hurts create my beauty. My trauma has given me strength. I am enough just as I am. Today will be what today is. I will get through life’s challenges one moment at a time. I am enough.

The wave
Water is motion. Wave after wave rolls into the shore. As I imagine laying in the ocean I know I hold my breath the wave washes my body. My mind becomes clear and calm. The worries drift away. For this moment I am present.

Breath as a Wave
I loved everything about this gentle, peace-filled meditation! A phrase in the meditation, “if your thoughts wander kindly bring your attention back to your breath”, was a lovely reminder of the importance of being kind and gentle with ourselves. ♥️

Imagery of the Wave
Today is my first day returning to practice in a while- or maybe I should say practice of this sort (being in nature is its own kind of meditation). The wave, for me, is always calming, restorative & powerful. I wandered a lot this am, but I see that as information. I think with my mind being pulled in so many directions it will be good to return to this practice. And hopefully to be able to do some am yoga on the roof! I see this new opportunity in BMore as a chance to recharge from Philly life and explore new possibilities intellectually, in relationships, and in my life experience.

In and Out
During this meditation I imagined myself sitting on a beach watching the waves come onto shore....breathe in. Then I watched the waves go back into the ocean...breathe out. I enjoyed listening to this meditation. I am going to go take a few more minutes focusing on my breath.

What I felt
I felt very stressed before and now I just feel like I need to breathe and take things as they come and let them go. But it’s hard to do that if something affects you a certain way. I really need to learn to let things go and move on

Created to breathe
As I took a breath in, I imagined my belly pushing the waves back. As I took a breath out, I imagined my belly pulling the waves toward me. Just as the waves were created to move back and forth on the shore, I was created to have my breath move back and forth from my body. ...but how often am I not utilizing my breath? I have a reminder set on this Aura App to “remind me to breathe” every hour. It seems so rudimentary, but when I see the notification and take a big deep breath in, it’s as if I’m taking my first deep inhale/exhale since I was last reminded. I hold my breath a lot and they are often shallow (hmm ocean reference!) especially when stressed. It’s nice setting the practice of just doing what I was created to do—to breathe deeply—and to reap the benefits that come with practicing it. 😌🌊

Best way
I think the best way to feel calm is not to breath intentionally but in a natural way, because than you get panicked and you are highly aware and you may stop breathing. This is what I’m trying to master. Peace and love ❤️

Day 27
I liked imagining that I was looking out at the waves of the ocean. Every breath in the water was meeting the shore, and every breath out the water went back to sea. It was quite relaxing to imagine it that way

Nice and comforting
I like this as a break during the day, or even as I get ready for bed. It also really resonated with me when I was in labor with my children. Focusing on my contracts as a wave going in and out really helped as well as this meditation, however I will admit sometimes I am not a fan of her voice, but that is just my opinion. In general a great quick re centering practice.

Living in the Present
I learned that there is more to life than just deadlines and stress. You must take time to enjoy and celebrate yourself for who you are, and the various accomplishments you’ve made thus far. Living in the present is the best way to clear a mind.

Wash away
Take deep breaths as you envision the image of a wave; release your breath, as you sense the wave washing away. You can also take breaths in tune to wave motion or sound. This will help you clear your mind, and regain your breath when feeling anxious or panic attacks creeping up. Try it!

Breath as a wave
I noticed that it felt good just to be able to breathe in and out. I walked the pups about an hour ago and whatever’s in the air makes it hard to breathe this time of year. The wave analogy was very soothing as I spent much of my time years ago at the beach and have always loved watching and listening to the waves.

A welcome mat
Our breath is like a welcome mat, inviting us to make a short visit. With each exhale, our breath touches the shore, letting go of anything disturbing our peace. Leaving it there to be washed away. Nothing is permanent. Only temporary. And just as quickly, it goes back into our body. . A vast ocean.. renewed and rejuvenated. If you close your eyes and listen closely,.. even our breath sounds like a wave. Mimicking Mother Nature all along.

Life is like a wave
In today’s lesson we all can learn a thing or two about life. Life is like a wave on the shore good and bad things come and go like wave rushes towards the shore, all bad things can come and go very fast. Always remember that bad things are only temporary and they lead to more positive things in life

Quick Refresh
This is a simple, soothing meditation that is short enough for a quick refresh. The narrator asks you to imagine a wave drifting onto the shore for the inhale and a wave receding from the shore for the exhale.

Aesthetics
So much life, and very little living? Who broke the tradition; Show him to me: This new god they pray to Chained to their TVs, cellphones, and each other. Oh, how much I love to live like the wind To pray to the old gods To live as you and me will never die But don’t you see, time and space mean nothing when you are in love with free. Show him to me This new god they pray to So I know which alleys to avoid

Calming meditation
I learnt the calming effect of the waves. Making my breathe one with the coming to shore and returning of my inhale and exhale, it helped me relax better. I have been feeling connected to water bodies today that I kept watching videos of islands and water bodies. My body has been longing to relax, I need to visit a water body soon.
