This guided meditation invites the listener to take a "brain break" by focusing attention on the breath.  Trying to struggle with thoughts is counter-productive, so focusing attention on the breath is a great way to take a vacation from the brain.

During this precarious time, our thoughts can be all over the place, leading us to unnecessary dis-ease if we do not periodically give our brain a break. In this first installment of a three part meditation, Cassandra tells us of a simple way that we can use to take a break from our brain. Settling in a comfortable position, I became aware and observed my thoughts, without judgement. Then I redirected my awareness to my breathing and how my certain areas of my body moved while I was breathing. I decided to focus on my belly on my inhale and my chest on my exhale. Visualizing this circular breathing within my body, I became so focused, so present on my breath that the rest of what was going on ‘out there’ went to the wayside. After having my focus on my breathing, I redirected my awareness back to my thoughts. Because I had given my brain a break, some of my thoughts were new and the ones that stuck around, I had gained a new perspective on them. I am grateful for shifting my awareness for a time and giving my brain a break. I look forward to listening to the next meditation in this three part series. We all need to give ourselves a break from time to time. Periodically shifting our awareness from our thoughts to our breath is a great way for us to give us that break. Try it and find out for yourself! Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️

I first focused on my brains many thoughts scrambling around all trying to get noticed like a bunch of unruly little kids! A few breathes later Cassandra led me to focus on my chest rising & falling with each breathe I took. I could actually feel my ribs in my ribcage expanding to accommodate the very deep breathes I was now taking. After what seemed like an eternity, Cassandra led us back to our brain where things seemed to be more settled and organized into the various categories that each need to get some attention. But now it seems like it will be easier since I took a “Brain Break” to get organized. Thanks goes out to Cassandra’s meditation & Cherish’s session! Much obliged ladies! 🤗🧠🍀
