Shifting...
During this precarious time, our thoughts can be all over the place, leading us to unnecessary dis-ease if we do not periodically give our brain a break. In this first installment of a three part meditation, Cassandra tells us of a simple way that we can use to take a break from our brain.
Settling in a comfortable position, I became aware and observed my thoughts, without judgement. Then I redirected my awareness to my breathing and how my certain areas of my body moved while I was breathing. I decided to focus on my belly on my inhale and my chest on my exhale. Visualizing this circular breathing within my body, I became so focused, so present on my breath that the rest of what was going on ‘out there’ went to the wayside. After having my focus on my breathing, I redirected my awareness back to my thoughts. Because I had given my brain a break, some of my thoughts were new and the ones that stuck around, I had gained a new perspective on them. I am grateful for shifting my awareness for a time and giving my brain a break. I look forward to listening to the next meditation in this three part series.
We all need to give ourselves a break from time to time. Periodically shifting our awareness from our thoughts to our breath is a great way for us to give us that break. Try it and find out for yourself! Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️
