Brahmacharya ~ Non-excess ~
Dorothy Zennuriye Juno
Psychotherapist & Meditation Teacher
Welcome to this episode and the fourth of a five-part series on the Yamas. Yamas are the first limb of yoga in the Ashtanga yoga system. The literal translation of the word Yama in Sanskrit is “restraint”. Religious texts of Hinduism and Jainism outline five Yamas. 'Brahmacharya' reminds us to approach each day and each action with a sense of sacredness rather than indulgence so that we may experience and live life in wonder and privilege rather than the misgivings of greed and excess. Use this journaling tool to help you practice a life of non-excess and the 'right use' of your energy. https://www.dorothyratusny.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Brahmacharya-A-Journaling-Tool-For-Cultivating-Moderation.pdf Sending you great love.
