Belly Breathing allows us to invoke a deeper sense of calm in the nervous system, it reduces the body's stress response, reducing the production of stress hormones like cortisol. This helps to calm the mind and alleviate stress and anxiety. Concentrating on deep expansive and relaxing breaths improves oxygenation, lowers the heart rate strengthens the diaphragm (a key player in belly breaths), and improves the quality of our sleep.
