Turbulent times right now. I went to bed last night, thinking that I had to wake up with a positive mindset. I set my alarm a little earlier than usual to "seize" the day. The reason I wanted/needed to have a great mindset more than ever, is because today is essentially the first day on a new journey in myself and my children's lives. Today's meditation was perfect. It spoke of a Chinese proverb saying to refresh the body every day. I had a great attitude, but was I taking care of the rest of myself. Mentally I was guided to give myself all new body parts. I gave myself that vision of a new body and also worked on a new way relationship with my mind. I've been working on this for a while. And it was nice to have this idea reaffirmed. I hit the refresh button today and I plan on doing this everyday for the rest of my life. You are not your past!

The history of relationships with my body is long and complicated: more than 10 years of eating disorders, significant weight loss and weight gain (over and over again, in cycles), severe restrictions and binge-eating - the list goes on. Sometimes the past feels like heavy shackles dragging me down, making every step forward seem incredibly difficult. And this meditation is a good self-help tool for slowly and gently, drop by drop, letting the past stay exactly where it should be: in memories and in experience, but not in the present, as a haunting ghost of previous mistakes and of the pain I used to cherish so much. Life goes on, and each day is a gift. I can make the most of this gift if I let the past go.

This was hard. I can’t really imagine my body as new because it’s not like things in the past didn’t happen. I know that it’s more figurative than anything but I couldn’t really follow this meditation well. I also think that while we shouldn’t be hung up on the past, we can’t just ignore either. To me new means completely blank slate which has some benefits but you also loose all the experiences and knowledge that make up you.

I've been mentally and physically exhausted lately. This session allowed to me to feel my body and mind without this exhaustion, if only for a moment. I realized tonight that the self kindness I've adopted helps to draw others. I have begun to build up the feeling that I like myself. What a unique and interesting meditation!
That’s the first time that I experience this meditation. I never thought that way: new body, new mind, « se renouveler chaque jour » as we say in french. I learned that it is ok to let go and feel free and I felt all of these images of pain flash before my closed eyes and as I inhaled I thought of them. But then when I exhaled they were all gone and a new image appeared. But towards the end I felt free. It was like I stepped back and saw my life from a different perspective.

Scanning my body, I imagined it as brand new. There is no pain. Rather, there is aliveness. Then I imagined my mind as brand new. I transformed into a child-like state, full of curiosity of this new mind attached to my body. There is no problems. Rather, there is endless possibilities with each passing moment. I looked around in my surroundings with a fresh set of eyes, full of gratitude, appreciation and joy for the people I love, for this life, for this very moment. I am renewed! Why choose a date and time in which we have to fulfill our goals for ourselves, when we could approach each day feeling brand new? When we have this mentality each and every day, then that is where change for the better happens, and goals are fulfilled. ❤️

At the end of every single day, our bodies/our eyes/our souls tell a story... lest be of joy or of grieve. Whichever the case, lay or sit down, at the start of a brand new day, & feel each part of your body, feel how you ca she’d away the story so you can start anew (with a different POV & mindset). It can be difficult in the days we’re living in, but changes need to come from within, before seeing it in the exterior. Changes begin with oneself. We have the opportunity to start again & again.

I learned that everything is energy. A person cannot escape their actions. I learned that a good system will protect those within it; and a bad system will destroy it self. I learned that most people are not at peace with themselves and will try to destroy or bring into their chaos other people. I learned that if you lose the respect of those closest to you, you lose everything. It has a ripple effect. I learned that if your sock drawer, fridge, stationery cabinet, laptop desk top, calendar and to do list are in a messy pile for long so is your life and leadership style. I learned that if you take shortcuts to anything love, healing, patience, success, and relationships you will be forced to start back again. And starting again is painful. I learned that removing yourself from situations, people, environments that don’t serve the greater good serves the greater good. “Life is like a game of backgammon, one minute you are in the lead and the next your thrown right back to the beginning”—Dirty, Sexy, Money 😇

Well doing this practice I was reminded of an expression my friend commonly use it. “Every day is a new day to the wise man .“ Similarly I learned that the beginners mind is creating everything in your body or in your surroundings is there it is Niu brand new. Do you have the beginners mind during meditation, it’s to regard our bodies with curiosity and without judgment tinted by past stories it is hard for me to focus on my body particularly when doing physical activities. But I am hopeful that if I can focus on my butt it’s new every time I use it without focusing on past experiences , I will become more mindful of my body. On another note I am pursuing a Masters degree in sociology and thought it was interesting but the beginners mind it’s also found in sociology however the beginners mind in this context is there a guard everything onesies everything onesies everything you say everything you see in a particular culture it’s new and worth learning about through and nonjudgmental lens. Maybe we applied the beginners mind to our meditation as well as society we would carry less tension in our bodies and be able to connect to each other without judgment I am grateful for the people in order for putting this together and the Yard community and TRX community and the community at this app for reading this post I hope everyone is happy and well and OK
