Happiness Insight Meditations
When we make a mistake, we often beat ourselves up or berate ourselves. Yet we know this is not an effective thing to do, as it often leaves us feeling worse and more stuck. This meditation helps you to cultivate compassion towards yourself and ease difficult emotions that come up with self-criticism.

Stop beating myself up!
Cultivate kindness, and bring them to myself as well. One might have to love others much, but we are human beings who need love too. Care for ourselves, love one another.

Kindness
I need to be gentler with myself. Kinder. I feel shame for giving love too carelessly and opening my heart too fully when I should see the honesty and generosity in that ... giving of myself to someone in need is beautiful and unselfish. Their unkindness in return is not a reflection of my stupidity but of their own decision to deny their truth. I was the brave one.

Beating Yourself Up?
It’s important to remind yourself often that you are okay just the way you are and perfection is an impossible goal! Breathing in and out helps to relieve the tensions experienced in my mind and body that unrealistic goals create.🙏🏻

Let it go
Sometimes I let someone get inside my mind and then they just camp out there. I’m always struggling to get free of that person and the situation they’ve created for me. But, if I can free myself and let it go I can have the experience that I am meant to have. Mindful meditation helps along with breathing. I will remind myself throughout the day to stop beating myself up over someone else’s obsession with me.🙏🌻

Accepting mistakes
In life, there are things that we can’t achieve and its okay. Without these mistakes, you wouldn’t be the person who you are today. The specific words that you would want to hear from others, would not define you. YOU are the only one who would be able to define who you really are.

😖Beating🙄Myself☹️Up☹️Hate😠This😌
🙂😊😉🙂Hello Everyone been Overwhelmed Stressed and on Over Drive. This Meditation was very helpful. But now I’m nervous freaking out. Keep trying to remember my breathing methods that I’ve learned due to my meditation. I’m at my Doctors office waiting to get yelled at. Was supposed to lose 10 pounds but instead I probably gained 10 pounds or more. I have no excuse. I don’t feel guilty. I haven’t had time to eat so I have a been over eating. I just want to support me to be over with and I don’t have to see him for another month. I hate This. I feel like a little kid waiting to go into the principals office scared annoyed irritated bothered 🤨😳😟🙄

"I love you. Everything is going to be okay."
The exacts words I needed to hear, and now I will move forward with my day with my mouth curled up in a half-smile, looking to treat myself and others with compassion.

Coming home to myself.
I love you, crooked heart, wicked mind..let’s work together. Your wants are my needs, we can make both parties happy, but we need unity. Everything is by design, so shifting away from negative energy can’t be that hard, and intuition can’t be too far, esp when two powerful forces are joined. Come home to me..Remember me?

Acceptance

Take it easy
When you realize what you need from other people (kindness, affirmation, love), don’t forget to give yourself the same thing in return. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself. Don’t forget to love yourself. Because when you can do it for yourself, it’s easier to give it to others effortlessly and as we all know, what you give out into the universe will always come back to you full circle. ❤️

Healing
Sometimes a broken heart will lash out. It's ok. But don't let it define you. You can't always ride the toughest waves and expect to do it without getting battered. Love yourself for trying. It will be ok.

Beating yourself up
I loved the message of this meditation. The meditation helped me to pinpoint my stress and it’s reaction in my body. The positive self talk was great. I was able to let go of my anger and deal with my feelings that I am not appreciated. Now I am relaxed and can settle for bedtime.

Self Love
In the end it’s normally you who hold yourself at the highest accountability. Sometimes this can magnify issues or things you have done in the past which you have come to doubt in whatever the current situation or circumstances of this self hurting. You have to understand you react and behave in manners which stem from lack of self love and awareness. You have to be open and understanding to your feelings as well as meet your own needs and wants so you don’t react in ways which aren’t true to your natural characteristics. because you aren’t making you really happy and feeling the love you might be giving and not receiving. Which causes more self doubt and other harmful emotions towards self because you begin to turn your inner being in the wrong direction.

Ease up
It's important to be as accepting and forgiving towards ourselves as we are to others. We are often our own worst critic. Making mistakes, learning from them is part of the process of living. Whatever happens is all part of the plan.

Day 10
I learned that mistakes are good. I should make more. But I should change how my mind reacts to these mistakes. Instead of focusing on the negative and putting myself down for making mistakes, I should focus on what the mistake taught me and how I can grow from it. I can feel my confidence growing. And I like who the new me is becoming. But I’ll need to be patient and believe in myself.

My healing hands
My mind used to whip my body into tension, discomfort, and illness. I started the abhyanga massage method Deepak Choprah recommends in his books, and with this practice I used my hands to alleviate tension of neck, shoulders, back and belly. My tension is suppressed movement and repressed emotions. I will turn attention to my body, this delicate canary of the mine, my primary mode. Everything else will come next.

Beating yourself up
To be kind to yourself, you have remember that you aren’t perfect, but you’re worth it. I used to beat myself up over the mistakes that others made. I felt like maybe if I wouldn’t reacted or done things differently, then they wouldn’t have hurt me. I am realizing that I am not responsible for others and how they treat me. Therefore I should not take on the burden of their disrespect.

Loving words
Thank you for this lovely meditation full of healing words and kindness. I am learning that when I'm not feeling well, I don't have to look externally. I can look internally and help myself feel better. These are the words and gestures I needed growing up and what I can use with my own children when they're in need of comfort and love. Thank you again.

Meditation number one
For me to love others, I must love myself. How do I treat the ones I love? How do I treat myself? Do these line up? What would it be like if I actually did love myself, and treated myself with love?

Love yourself
I’ve come to realize that I don’t love myself as much as I should. The small whispers “I love you” and “Everything is going to be ok” left a smile stamped on my face the moment I spoke them aloud. I am now in a much better place emotionally, and mentally and will continue to practice self love moving forward.

Beating yourself up
People mistakes all the time and that’s totally okay! Without making mistakes in life we wouldn’t know any better, we wouldn’t learn from those mistakes. Many people regret when they make mistakes and they shouldn’t, it’s a learning process to help you become a better person and opens your eyes, telling you to change. Being perfectly imperfect is what everyone is and as a whole we all should except that.

I learned that I need to spend more time with myself, to have more inner connection with learning who I am/ who I will be and how I can change myself to be a better person. I’ve always been distracted with my day and other little things, that I have no time to figure out who I am!! This helped to learn to have more inner connection with my body.. Thanks Aura😄

Letting my walls down
I feel like I made a mistake today, I've started to let my walls down around a group of people I really like. And I really want them to like me. I decided to let my guard down as joke around with a guy from this group. I was helping out the co-director by being on book. Close to the end of practice (after his being a "distraction" through all of practice) I, jokingly fake hit his shoulder with my script. He laughed too but I am beating myself up over the whole thing. Please someone help me! I've done such a good job putting away that critic, but I don't think I can do it alone this time.

Today was an incredibly long day for me and tomorrow will be another long day, but this meditation really helped to bring me back. I liked the concept of finding the sensation in your body that holds the stress, and then placing your hand on it. Having my hand in my shoulders and neck produced a warmth that was comforting. I also benefited from saying some words of comfort to myself

What a world. I judge myself the most. I’ve always been between 90-105 pounds for the last year, i live three provinces away from anyone who knows me. I’m in my mid 20s... why do I feel like I still haven’t found myself. I don’t think I’ll be complete until we move back home... it’s been four years away, with no leads to go back. Opened up the pain however didn’t adequately pride a tool, method or mechanism to deal with the pain... lots of talk about opening up and then “be kind to yourself” ??? Self Kindness AKA Happiness
Been told I’m hard on myself, beat myself up. Until this meditation I truly did not FEEL what this meant. It feels self punishing over and over again, not forgiving myself of even the smallest insignificant imperfections. Blow then up in my head until they’re all consuming. My nervous stomach is actually anxiety stomach. I forgive others freely, I treat others as I want to be treated. TODAY I WILL FORGIVE MY OWN SELF FREELY. TODAY I WILL TREAT MYSELF AS I TREAT OTHERS!!! Unconditionally.

Dealing with trauma and guilt.
All of my life my dad and I have had a rocky relationship. He was verbally abusing my whole life and never owned up to it like I deserved it like he was doing nothing wrong. Although he's done terrible stuff and put me in numerous terrible situations I still love him because he is my father. My parents are divorced. My dad is supposed to pay child support which he has failed to do for the last 7 months because of work being slow and he has sold almost everything valuable that he owns to try to send us some money but it's never enough. He lost his house and is now homeless and my family thinks he's on drugs and it just hurts my heart to see him struggle even though he's done so many things bad to me. I always get scared that if I say the wrong thing or be too mean that he will try to commit suicide because he has mentioned it before. I can't help but feel like if he didn't have me to worry about then his life wouldn't have been as bad but at the same time I wish I could go back to the better days and replay the moments over and over again when we used to laugh and play together.

Didn't catch her name -- at first I thought, now I'm feeling okay, why was this chosen when it is about berating yourself and such? Forgiving & Cheering...
Good idea - forgiving myself for what I have not done (yet) or for something I should not have done. GREAT idea - Cheering myself on for what I have done (already) or for what I was able to avoid doing. Waiting for someone else to do this for us is risky because they maybe never will. But learning to do this for ourselves is a wise thing to do often! ❤️☮️🍀

Grades came in and i beat myself up with it. I had trials these past months and it affected me tremendously. I’m trying to get back up. But it’s like the harder I work, the harder the work gets. I was at a point of giving up and telling myself that I wasn’t strong enough. But then I got this feeling telling me that I need to calm down and that I’m overreacting so I decided to mediate. It helped to give me hope. And i hope that i can keep going and not give up.

There's no need to beat myself up
I found this really helpful and I learned that there's no point in beating myself up about school and my upcoming exams, I'm under enough pressure as it is and beating myself up will just make it worse. Wishing well on oneself. Hmm! This is so hard for me because my summer trip with my Mom and Dad has come to an end and I go home in a few days. I have been so emotional about it. I mean I want to go home(I FaceTime my fur babies and roommate every nite) but I just had such a good time with my parents and then yesterday, my my trips and falls in public and hurts herself and no one takes care of her. They all stand around. I was so mad. So, I’m am having bittersweet feelings about leaving and when I think about it I get choked up. I try to stay busy to manage my time and emotional being. That’s the best I can do. Than you, Aura! Have a nice day, Everyone!😀

Beating Yourself Up
I realized that I have been continuing to beat myself up internally. It is very hard for me to validate my childrens’ feelings without doing this to myself. I know my intentions and that I have been doing the best I can with what I know at the time and in light of the situation. This exercise may be helpful to go back to whenever I catch myself beating myself up again.

Grief
Since beginning the aura meditations I don’t beat myself up as much. This is the first meditation that popped up this morning so I listened to it. What came up for me is grief and fear. The inability to visualize good things for myself is another way of beating myself up. In Northern California we are all being tested right now by these fires and we are all frightened and sad. I am fearful that I will have trouble getting out if a fire hits our community because they move so fast and I am disabled. Running from a wall of fire that is moving the equivalent of a football field in a second is not something I can do. I am grief stricken for all the people who have died and For those who are missing and for all those who have lost their homes and loved ones, for all the lost pets and animals, etc. And the president’s cruel tweets make me cry. But letting my grief overcome me and dwelling on the fires is unhealthy. This meditation helped me process this and I feel better.

Be kind to yourself

Beating myself up.
Today is my birthday. Birthdays are hard for me. My boyfriend of three months spent the entire day with me. I started to feel this feeling in my stomach and heart, kind of like a knot. I notice I as feeling sick through out the day. Whenever I thought about him and how kind he was the feeling got worse. I could feel myself separating from him and reality. Most of today is a blur. I was spacing out at some of the most important moments. I realized today, I’m afraid. I’m afraid of being hurt. I’m afraid of being hurt because I’m listening too much to my head and not enough to my heart. Today I learned that if I don’t start listening to my heart, I may very well miss my life.

I blame myself for everything
I blame myself for things I can’t control and can control. Things I have nothing to do with and things that never involved me. I apologize for whenever someone is having a bad day. When someone gives me advice and I don’t take that advice I fell like I let that person down. And all the while I don’t ever think about what is best for me. My happiness has always come second in my life as I will always put those i love first. And I’m unsure if this makes a bad person or if I’m doing the right thing.

Emotional, but powerful
This one was difficult for me, which is exactly why I needed it. When they said "bring to mind what has been hard for you" I had a flood of thoughts of all the things I have been struggling with, and started crying in the middle of the meditation. However, the remainder of the meditation helped start the process of coming to terms with all that has happened instead of internalizing the pain (which is what I have been doing). Disclaimer - I had to do this meditation a couple times cause of tears whoops

This is the new direction I have been seeking.
I am a bit of a slow learner. I am learning from these session, which has been kicking around in my head for years, my approach to viewing life is from the way I was raised. Toxic. And, I knew being heavily medicated and chemically lobotomized was a path I did not want to travel but did because I was taught, as many of us, “doctors” were on pedestals and to trust them. I did. I am so thankful for Aura guiding me in a positive direction.

I really do shame myself
I am so tough on myself that I don’t realize it! For instance, even though I will brush off the “victim mentality” as much as possible, and for obvious reasons...I do tend to beat myself up on things that I know I couldn’t control, or did the best I could! It may seem like second nature to most, like myself, to just push through the daily “unauthorized hazards” Life throws in the way and to just “suck it up & deal for now” isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I still shouldn’t shame myself for learning to mindfully assess and engage positively upon, whatever shameful feelings or thoughts creep in.

I learned that I needed kindness, reassurance, and love in my life right now. I didn’t know I needed it till now and I need it from not only other people but from myself too. learning about yourself
2019 was a year that i’ve learned all about myself and my identity. it’s hard to control the bad thoughts that are being put into your head by society’s expectations of who you “have” to be. i really struggled and had never felt comfortable in my own skin until now. now, i understand myself. and sometimes it’s still hard for me and i get caught up again, but this mediation really assured me. my heart is where i carry most of my burdens, and the lady in the video instructed to give yourself what you wanted to hear the most from others. my heart wants to be loved. and so i whispered to myself “i love you”. i can’t describe how it felt, but i felt so full again. it’s amazing how much i’ve grown and learned about myself. i heard what i needed to hear for so long. i needed to love myself. and i can’t proudly say now, that i do. i love me. :)
J
Jeanisse
Trying
It’s never easy to feel valuable or loved when others don’t make you feel that way; but we need to understand that our own self worth isn’t based on what others think, say or even do. Happiness comes from within ourselves, and it’s not correlated to how others make us feel. We tend to be harsh to ourselves. I sometimes catch myself saying “I’m so dumb”, but I have accomplished so much, so I must be doing something right! Practice talking to yourself or writing on a notepad good qualities of the person that you are. Feed yourself with kindness.

Cheering...
I learned that the only way to make sure you get told you are doing ok is to tell yourself that you are. Since I always believe myself, I need to become my biggest cheerleader of all the Good I am doing. It may be easy to find something wrong and beat myself up over it but that is only going to make things worse. Instead I should tell myself something like “Although I did this thing wrong, I still believe in you and love you... you are wonderful!” We must become our own biggest cheerleaders! Look for the good in what we do, praise the good and go about doing more of it. It helps us get in a positive upward spiral! ❤️🗣🍀

Beating myself up
I’ve noticed that I’ve been blaming myself for all of my mom’s and dad’s stress. When they get home from work, tired and stressed, I try to be as perfect as I can, just to make mine and my brothers life easier. My brother being 5 years old is expected to make a mistake. Me being 13 am expected to be more responsible and mature than my brother. I have ADHD and sometimes don’t think about my actions beforehand, so when I make a mistake, my parents are already at the boiling point and just explode on me. I don’t get emotional very quickly, I hold it in and when I’m at my tipi for point, my world comes crashing down. Recently this happened and I’ve been depressed. Aura has really helped with my depression. This story I think I can say, pulled me out of my depression hole. There are thing I still need to fix, emotions I need to wash off, and bridges I need to rebuild, but overall I feel free again! Thank you to the Aura community for being sooo positive! Have a good rest of your day or night!

The fixer
I've realized I'm only responsible for my own wellbeing. I'm not the fixer and that's okay.

Making mistakes
Making mistakes is a part of life. I’m focusing on dwelling on the what could beens and learn from the lesson. I can not fix someone who does not want to put effort into themselves and the relationship.

I feel calm
Every time I’m always worried why I’m unheard or unseen in my relationship always wondering will I ever have a voice but now I believe I need to stop beating myself up and actually love myself and upgrade myself to the level where she will be forced to stay around and see what’s infront of her instead of staying worried always progress on me and stay being me I need to love me before anyone can love me I need to be the best of me before anyone can see the best in me and be proud of me

Whole again.
I’m not perfect. Hating myself because of what others thought about me. Finally being able to see some light of peace in my mind and thoughts.

Let go and let god
I was feeling kind of bad about missing a work meeting and was beating myself up about it then I saw this banner pop up about beating yourself up. This tea helped me to let go of things a bit easier
