This particular mediation was on appreciation, and something happened today that I was so appreciative of, I was just got the biggest grin..my mom sent me much needed money. Then I thought of a memory that I appreciated and that was living close to the beach when I was a teenager, I don’t now, but they were appreciative memories. What a great mediation to go to bed by. Good night all my Aura friends! Good night Aura!

This meditation was difficult for me because, for some reason, I couldn’t think of any recent event that brought a smile to my face immediately or felt really good. That’s not to say those things shouldn’t have happened, between Christmas and New Years and a myriad of other events, but nothing recently really stood out like maybe it should’ve. Why?

When you have loved ones around us that support the things we do, we should be very grateful for that. It’s the little things in life that we need to appreciate. When people don’t realize what they have, they become greedy and take things for granted, while there are other people out there that are blessed for as much as having something small. We are so often consumed with what’s wrong that we give very little time to the good stuff. Thus week I have been consumed with the plight of the children and families separated by my very own government. Could not help smiling at all the “Lucky Breaks” that seem to happen to me on a regular basis! When I started to count my blessings, I realized that no matter the size, large or small, each blessing is a gift of immeasurable quality. Stopping to take the time to fully appreciate my blessings also relieves stressors that have no real business taking up residence within me! Stop Assuming the Bad
I have a bad habit of only thinking about what could go wrong in a situation. Very rarely do I think about what could right. And even when I do, I always feel like the bad outcome is more likely to happen than the good outcome. I like the idea of focusing on the good that’s happened to you & being thankful for it.

Being able to experience a nice moment again in my mind was very life-giving for me. It's so easy for me to re-live negative moments and emotions over and over again. But I don't know that I've ever relived positive moments and emotions in this way before.

Savor the Good
We often brush over the positive in our lives and instead focus on the negative. In this excellent meditation, Jiva has us focus on what is positive in our lives by thinking of memories we have had that made us feel light and warmth in our hearts, someone or a pet that we have gratitude for and a circumstance we have that we feel appreciative for. I began getting lost in my breath as my mind bounced around savoring good memories that I treasured. A smile naturally came to my face and my heart began to warm. Then, my mom and our pets entered my mind. My heart began to fill with light as I thought how truly grateful I am for my mom and our pets. Gosh, how much they enrich my life with their presence! I then focused on the home I live in, the bed I have to lay in to sleep at night, the food I have to eat and and the shower I have to cleanse myself. Focusing on these circumstances I have in my life reminds me that indeed, I have everything I need! Focusing on the positive in our lives not only improves our mindset, but it also attracts positivity into our lives! I am grateful for Jiva creating this wonderful meditation for us to not only savor the good that has happened in our lives, but to bring our awareness to and savor what Is good in our lives Right Now! Sometimes breathing is enough to ease our worries. To focus on one thing. Bringing ourselves back to our breath. We forget how it gives us life. Memories, great ones, remind us of positivity. Reminiscing makes us smile. The more vivid they are, it is like we are time traveling. No need for a time machine. Memories are future gratitudes. As we look back at them.. we appreciate those times. They remind us that time does exist.

Bathe In Pleasure
We can bathe in pleasure by remembering pleasant things that have happened to us. I thought of my cat and a lush green area with a lot of plants. I want to enjoy all my pleasant encounters and appreciate them more versus rushing them out and away like we often do. I want to live in the moment and appreciate things as they happen. We don’t have to follow any of our negative, undesired thoughts.

Appreciation and gratitude
This meditation put a great smile on my face as I focused on positive and happy events from the past couple weeks, from loving kind connections with cherished people in my life to the amazing oak tree in my front yard. As I began pulling these moments forward with awareness and gratitude, more and more moments tumbled forward, big and small, rolling through my mind, bringing me more and more joy. Like attracts like. The negativity bias is real. Our brains are wired to generally put more emphasis on negative events, even when those events have an equal or less intense emotional experience than positive or neutral events. Our brains naturally focus on the negative, but we have the power to change that! We can take charge, we can re-train and re-wire our brains by doing exactly what this meditation encourages us to do! It all starts with baby steps. It all starts with one choice at a time in the present moment. It all starts with asking yourself what you can do in this moment to create your best future self? It’s not easy, the best things rarely are. It does get easier and easier. Like attracts like. You’ve got this. We’ve got this. I’ve got this. Thank you.
