I think I may have made some good connections with people in this community. Patty stands out most. I don't want to tarnish whatever image of myself I've projected. But...I'm a very selfish man, so this exercise was easy for me. I feel that being selfish is a priority. You come first, then yours comes next, and finally comes mine. If you don't have a keen sense of self coupled with self ambition, then who are you? What do you, or better yet...what can you impart to others? If charity begins at home, then self-preservation begins with you. Without love and appreciation of self you can't love and appreciate anything or anyone else. I've done things that I think a remarkable all things considered. With no formal training since 2009. I started writing for a local sketch comedy show. Where I also learned to direct. I've since written for several publications, speeches for politicians, Ghostwriter on three independent films, and written over a dozen plays. Four of which I directed and executive produce. I'm friends with celebrities like Dave Chappell, Anthony Anderson, and Sheryl Underwood. All this is attributed to love of self, self-awareness , and self appreciation. I love me! Namaste 🙏🏾

The next time i am feeling stressed or down. I met with friends this morning for coffee and a chat and I didn’t keep looking at the time so I could leave and get all the work I need to do done. Re-remebering

Positive affirmations
I always think of that guy from SNL when i do my positive affirmations. I used to laugh at myself when saying my good qualities out loud. I still picture Stuart Smallie in my head but i love this practice. What comes out of my mouth goes right into my ears and my mind. Your mind is very useful (sometimes) I can feel my confidence levels rise and am ready for a great day, because “I’m good enough and gosh darn it people like me”. Have an amazing experience everyone!

A lot of times we sell ourselves short. But we are good and we have done good things in our lives. We deserve to appreciate ourselves the way we are. The good and the bad. I learned that...
I think I prefer meditations that focus on slowing the mind through mental exercises, over those that involve more physical exercises. I noticed that... after taking just one deep breath, holding for three seconds and exhaling, the breaths that followed were naturally much deeper than they were before the exercise. This felt good.

Last night I was in a car crash that easily could have cost me my life and I felt the need this morning to stop for a couple of minutes and just appreciate me and who I am and what I’ve done so far and how every thing I have done every action and decision I’ve taken has led to this person I am today. And I’m proud and appreciative of who I am. In this meditation I imagined myself hugging myself and I could almost feel the safeness and love as though someone was actually hugging me. It’s good to know you always have yourself at the end of the day and sometimes all it takes for us to feel happy is to realise and appreciate that our lives are beautiful and the people in them are beautiful.

I am often blinded by emotions. I often catch myself unconsciously shallow breathing or holding my breath. This is a good exercise to be mindful of how I should be breathing and what to do when emotions get in the way.

In times that I’m not feeling so good or struggling with a difficult situation, I need to remember this feeling. I usually don’t! Not often enough does one take time to really appreciate oneself. Today was a reminder to appreciate myself and the things I do. I most often look to others to show me appreciation to feel worthy. Today, I am taking the time to feel worthy of myself. I do so much for others and I like to do that. What a totally different message than what I’ve heard most of my life! Usually I hear that I’m not good enough, or that I’m fundamentally flawed and that I have to deny myself. I learned that... pausing and taking a moment for me in the middle of all the chaos/ day to day life is important for self care and appreciating ourselves and our body and just all that we are. We can be so hard on ourselves, so busy with life and taking care of everyone else that we forget to take care of ourselves. I really needed to hear this message today. With me being a mom to two little ones, working full time, my husband having a job that requires him to travel and be gone throughout the week, and online school. It’s hard for me to find time for myself. But I find time and use my time very wisely. Self care and self-appreciation is so important. So I’m so glad I listened to this message, such a great reminder for everyone in this busy world to stop and appreciate all that you are ❤️

I can only hope that this little meditation sets the tone for a nice Thanksgiving with my family. Yesterday was challenging with my daughter who was having a meltdown about making dinner and taking it out on me. So I am going to have to take care of myself today because she's hyper critical of me. I'm going to give myself some extra love today. My plan is to focus on my grandchildren and enjoy my time with them today.

I looked inside to find myself. Who am I? Not what do I look like or what do I sound like or even how do I feel? But I searched for a color inside and I found black with a light grey in the middle. Being my worst critic, these words are so hard to say... but wow, they are so good to hear! This morning was tough because I couldn’t seem to get passed a difficult chapter in studying. I felt frustrated with the content, anxious about timing, and even “stupid” for just not getting it... but I eventually got through the chapter and learned so much from it! I appreciate my discipline; I appreciate my work ethic, and I appreciate my determination... In this moment, I appreciate myself, regardless of whether I get it right or wrong. 😌

I didnt exoect to be starting a session when I did, and did not wish to waste a perfectly good moment of mindfulness. I actually found that even though i was not completely focused on what was being said and I may have not fully intended to actually participate, I subconciously tuned in to the meditation and truthfully found myself calmer.

This pause of self-appreciation was a wonderful way to begin my day! Kristy had me think of the good things I have accomplished in life. By remembering the good things, feelings of goodness began to warm my heart space and filter throughout my entire body. However, I do not necessarily feel as though these feelings has gotten me to where I am today. Unfortunate circumstances came up and changed my life path. I have had a very hard time accepting this. But, I am working through these feelings slowly, but surely. Now that I am on this new life and while I heal, I decided to embark on this journey of self-awareness and self-care. I am proud that I practice mindfulness everyday. By practicing mindfulness, I find joy in the little things and no longer take these precious moments for granted. By practicing mindfulness, I have found renewed joy in my life. By practicing mindfulness, I have found goodness in THIS moment. By savoring in this self-appreciation, I feel positivity flow throughout my body! Never thought I’d need this when I’m happy
It’s an incredible feeling to feel happy and savor the feeling. I usually use meditation when I’m anxious or depressed.. but being able to relax and give thought to my current feeling of happiness- gives me a feeling of comfort that I can be in this state no matter what is happening around me. ❤️
