Mindfulness means being aware of your thoughts, not stopping them. If your mind wanders, you're not getting it "wrong." In fact, every time your mind wanders and you notice it, it is actually a moment of mindfulness. Photo by Alejandro Piñero Amerio on Unsplash www.christina-mcmahon.com

Clouds
In this session I kept thinking of my great grandmother (we all called her meema) because it said let your thoughts pass like clouds & Meema had really white, poofy & curly hair which has always reminded me of clouds. Also the day she passed away there were clouds that looked a lot like her hair & ever since then whenever me & my mom see them we call them "Meema Clouds".

Mindfulness
Letting my thoughts pass without engaging them is a real challenge for me. Sometimes living in my head feels really reinforcing, because I engage my thoughts and come to conclusions that maybe feel helpful or definite in that moment. The truth is what happens in my mind stays in my mind. When I'm constantly engaging my thoughts and turning things over in my head I'm not making any progress toward anything meaningful or being productive. Having thoughts, letting them pass, and taking action based on what feels right in any given moment is what is important. I can't know what's right if I'm not listening to the moment and am too busy engaging what's happening in my head. So...I hope I come across more meditations like this, because I need to practice this.

Breath
Breathing is so simple that I often forget about it but really it's such a good tool to use for anchoring myself to me. And not drifting away with those clouds. My breathe is something I can return to when I'm stressed and it will always be there for me.

Not After Nachos
Shouldn't meditate on a full stomach. The spicy sauce creates congestion and labored breathing.

Moments
Even a few moments of stillness, noticing thoughts, is helpful.

Focus
My mind was all over the place could hardly concentrate on the meditation. I do like she kept saying that it was fine to have thoughts creep in ... "just fade away like a cloud" idk why but I really did like that analogy .

1st meditation
Thoughts are worldly, people are worldly, talking is worldly. I should mediate more often.

Thought a moment
When you take a second to breathe and let your muscles relax, you feel a sudden movement in your feelings that helps you relax and your thoughts

It's so easy to be distracted by negative thoughts and insecurities.
I can have control over my thoughts if I let myself focus on them, simply acknowledge them, and then let them pass.

A Moment of Mindfulness
It was lovely to consider an interruption or thought during my meditation practice as a moment of mindfulness thus turning a negative reaction into a positive opportunity. Thank you for the suggestion. Namaste 🙏🏻.

Let wander
Any thought that comes to mind, you shouldn’t ignore it but watch it like a cloud passing by.

It is okay
It is okay to just recognize a thought like a passing cloud and not explore it further

Clearing thoughts
I enjoyed this session. I could relax and focus on the breathe. I was for a brief period of time “thoughtless”. It feels timeless, peaceful and warm. It was very nice. I hope you can experience it too. Namaste

I am here in the now
I have to admit I am so tired that I was lulled to sleep with the occasional mantra going through my mind ‘I am here in the now’. I found myself fighting to open my eyelids. Drifting off again while I write this. Doesn’t seem I am getting enough sleep though I know I am. I will try a mindful moment before bed as well as morning.

Mindfulness in the breath
I have been struggling recently in recovery but when I keep coming back to the breath I feel grounded, connected and whole

Focus
Little harder to focus this morning, right when I started mediation, my dog wants to play and literally dropped her toy right in front of me. Went back to focusing on my breath, but was losing some focus, since she was pacing back and forth. Went back to trying to focus on breathing. Learning life is full of interruptions, but being mindful is trying to intentionally get back to that focus.

Breathing
I enjoy focusing on my own breathing. More where I feel it than what it feels like. It creates a lull in my mind and thoughts. Satisfying and slow. Almost ethereal. It also seems to put me to sleep. Never in my life has my own body been the source of what helped me sleep.

Thoughts
I realized I need to work on noticing thoughts without engaging them. I engage thoughts quite often and get pulled out of the meditation state.

Day 1
Be patient and understanding. Evaluate an issue before you react. Negative emotions can have harmful consequences.

Thoughts will come and will go if you don’t give them the power to stay.
Just focus on breaths to let thoughts go to take their power

Thought clouds
I like the idea of the the thoughts coming in being OK. Notice them, then watch them pass like clouds. Very nice!

Day two
I learned that meditation doesn’t mean turning your mind off like a light switch. It means allow the thought to come and go. Before I always thought if I had a thought outside of whatever I was meditating on, then I had failed.

Fabulous Friday 2-9-18
As I sat and listened to this meditation, I pretended to watch the clouds go by yet, I was focused on my breathing and how intense I was. This was a great meditation. Thank you, Aura! Have a nice day Everyone!😀

Breathing
I’m finding that I have fewer floating thoughts as I concentrate on my breathing and the speaker’s voice. I like the idea of noticing a thought and then letting it pass “like a cloud” being a moment of mindfulness.

Moment of mindfulness
Today was a reminder on how to use noting of thoughts when are minds are distracted. I noted the thought, observed it non judgmentally and then let it float away. I need to continue to use this when my mind is active whi,e meditating.

Mindfulness
I remember when I first learned about mindfulness on Aura. It applies to anything I do. Living in the present moment and enjoying a simple action is wonderful. So different from being on auto pilot.
