The longer you hold it...
Although I’ve heard this before, I couldn’t have listened to it again at a better time than now.
Lately, I’ve been allowing my stress and anxiety about my future get the better of me. Sleepless nights, a mind filled with white noise, jumpiness, I’ve experienced many things.
One of my biggest goals of this year is to try and get a better grip on how I react to things, people, situations, thoughts.
Exactly as the lady said, the longer you hold it (it being anything that has the capability of rendering you completely and utterly exhausted- mentally and physically), the heavier it gets. And at your weakest moment, everything will drop like a time bomb.
This lesson is very important. Being in control of what you let affect your state of mind can greatly improve your responses to everything happening in or around you.
If you are able to operate and go about your daily tasks with a clean, calm mind, you are able to stay happier and perform a lot better.
This story taught me to take a step back at the end of each day. To unload all my worries and troubles of the day. It taught me to go to bed as a new person so that when I wake up the following morning, I can start over with a fresh mind.
I aspire to master this practice of letting go because it will, for sure, benefit me greatly in the long run.
