The Runaway Kite

The narrator, 11 year-old Philippa, and her brother Claude live with their father on the isolated Big Half Moon Island, where their father is the lighthouse keeper. Though lonely, they find joy in imaginative play, especially flying kites, until one day the narrator accidentally damages their favorite kite and patches it with an old letter.
