Tonight’s story is about Martin Hale, an old violin maker who cannot play beautifully but can hear what the wood wants to become. His apprentice wants to make a masterpiece fast. He wants praise. He wants his name remembered. But the old man teaches him something deeper. A violin does not sing because it is filled. It sings because the unnecessary wood has been carefully removed. That is the spiritual lesson. We spend years adding things to ourselves. Titles. Opinions. Defenses. Pride. Fear. Old injuries. Stories about who we are and what happened to us. But much of it only makes us heavy. The hollow space is not the flaw. It is where the song begins.
