We greet the breath with awareness and interest- the way we might see a friend in a crowd. We don’t have to shove aside everybody else. Our energy, our enthusiasm, and our sense of connection are going towards that friend. In just that way, we pay attention to the breath.

Basic Technique
It’s important to connect with the present as so much of our time is spent out of it. I did find the narration to be distracting.

The Breath
Where do I feel my breath the most? Tough question! I’m feeling it as an overall flow today, so I’ll say I’m feeling it in the sum of its many parts. Namaste

The breath
No breath has to be the same. You acknowledge it for what it is. Each breath is different. It’s key to be aware how each one feels.

Children need it too
I had my seven-year-old daughter breathe deeply on the way to school today. Explaining that it helps your your brain to get oxygen to think clearly and helps you to relax and get ready for the day.

Focusing on breathing allows me to temporarily put other thoughts aside and or reduces the impact of negative thoughts. It enables me to calm my mind and focus. I understand that initially it’s a method of distraction and hopefully this and other related processes will allow me to fix the root cause of the negative thoughts.

Calming
Just prior to this meditation, I was struggling with an issue at home with my furnace not working. By the end, I was much more calm and settled. Breathing mindfully helps a bunch with that.

Just One Breath
I loved this meditation focusing in on just one breath at a time, no need to think of anything else. Don’t worry about what came before or what’s after. What a beautiful reminder to me to live joyously in the present moment.

I can be easily distracted
I can be easily distracted but if I can focus on the next single breath, I can narrow my thoughts and redirect them with better control.

Impermanence of breath
I imagined myself standing at the door of my lungs, welcoming each breath as if it were a guest at a party – a party in my lungs! I would say hello as it came in, thanked it for its gift, and then said goodbye as it made its way out. I could only greet one breath at a time. I barely got to know it before it had to go on its way, such is the impermanence of each breath.

Breathing!
It's amazing how much thought you can put into your breathing. There are so many things to notice with it, yet everyday you breathe without paying attention to it. Our body is incredible!

Calm
With every breath my nose and my toes tingles. My mind lights up like a wildfire and my soul awakens as if it were the sun rising. The change from sleep to awake makes me aware with every breath I see a calm blue waterfall. I want to jump in it. To feel the cool water all around my brown skin. I want to feel my curls entangle themselves in the water. Floating on top so effortlessly. This is how this exercise made me feel. I feel free from worry and just simply....calm.

Release with Awareness
I appreciate how Dea truly makes me focus on where I feel my breath the most. I also like how she tells me not to worry about deepening the breath but just to focus on how it is in the moment. This gave me a sense of release. I was also very aware of how and where my breath was flowing.

Breathing aimlessly
Just taking a minute to breathe makes such a huge difference. Even if it isn’t super deep or long, just breathing and being conscious of it helps. I feel more relaxed, more aware, and more happy. My brain feels refreshed and I feel brighter.

You dont have to let go of everything just give it your most honest attention and enthusiasm. That is what I will do from now on. Takes away the pressure from it. Makes it easier. Not an inner struggle about where to put your focus. A battle with the mind. With the thoughts. It becomes more pleasant and easy to really be present in the moment this way. To try is good enough.

Gentle peesence
I enjoyed this gentle way of greeting my breath.. as a friend, as gentle as a butterfly. I felt available to my breath and where it was rather than attempting to control( deepen, slow, or alter) my breath. Such a beautiful experience!

The Breath
I realized that tonight relaxing and finding peace was easier for me after taking my yoga class. My instructor focuses on breathing and calming down a lot throughout the class so it was nice to take those tools to bed with me.

The breath
To breathe is to be alive. Taking the time in your own day to meditate is good for your mental health I would know because I had days where I didn’t want to get out of bed and didn’t feel motivated
