Numbers - Part 2 : The Next Generation
The book of numbers is named because of the two lists of numbers of people it contains. This book will take 2 sessions to cover, and this is the second session.
While the census is important for historical context, these lists are not really the most important aspect of this book of the Bible. The central idea of Numbers is the theme of judgment and death for an old and disobedient generation, and the birth and hope of a new generation who is willing to compromise rather than rebel, and to trust God to fulfill what has been promised.
