It's hard to let go of negative thoughts but taking a moment to breathe and relax helps to loosen the hold of the embedded patterns. I get so afraid of the vast "out there" though that it is hard for me. I will imagine being wrapped in peace and comfort. Tears.

I learned to feel calm and forgiving towards others. Also that I should think of the good people in life and not just the ones who have wronged me. Stay clear of any negative thoughts of others and remember the good people as well.

Wishing others well
It’s difficult sometimes to wish yourself well because for me, I feel guilty and selfish doing it. However, I’m learning that I need to make sure I’m secure in myself, strong minded, and of a clear head before I start giving advice to others. If you don’t love yourself, how can you give love to someone else? It’s impossible.

I don’t need to be or do anything to deserve happiness and peace. I must let go of this unhealthy obsession to be the best and work the hardest. All that I must do is that which beings be good health and a happy heart.

I noticed it seemed silly to wish myself deep happiness—I couldn’t get a mental picture of that. Same with wishing myself safe and protected—I wondered protected from what? When it came to my friend, I could wish all of those things without a moment’s hesitation and it felt good to wish kindness for her.

I noticed that this time I was able to wish the good things for myself without questioning whether I deserved them. I felt at peace when I started the meditation and I think that helped. I had a wonderful conversation with my daughter, my friend, tonight and wrote in my gratitude journal before this meditation. Trish wants to know more about meditation and I’ll get to show her Aura when she gets here!

These words are difficult and at the same time comforting. It is sometimes much easier to wish kindness for others than myself. Thanks for your guidance.🙏🏻

Most of my attention was on noticing my thoughts or lack thereof and most of the rest of my attention was on my drowsiness. Shortly after the session fell asleep.
