Mindful eating is a wonderful way to be in the present moment. Normally when we eat, our mind is all over the place. In this meditation, we bring our full attention to the colour, texture, taste and various sensory experiences involved. We wake up to our senses. We also learn to be grateful to the mother nature for nourishing us.

Mindful Eating
It’s good to SLOW down and appreciate, with thanksgiving, all that goes into bringing food (& with it nourishment and energy) to the table. I loved engaging all of my senses, too.

Loved this Mindfulness of Food Meditation
This meditation opened my eyes to how I don’t take the time to savor my food. I tend to rush and mindlessly eat quickly, to get rid of the urgent feeling of hunger without the appreciation of the food. I’ve been feeling sluggish due to some poor eating habits lately. This meditation is most helpful.

Great practice. So many times we eat fast and do not truly taste our food and enjoy it. Do the 7 minute practice instead of the 3 minute. The 3 minute is rushed and ends abruptly.

Good point, that eating is another important time and good opportunity to be mindful, to be aware of and appreciate the food we eat, along with our ability to ingest and process it, but also to enjoy it. Namaste

I learned that pistachios bite your tongue with their saltiness and have a bitter aftertaste. I need to slow down in every activity, including eating, to be present and notice what is happening at each moment.

When you focus on the small things you have no room to enjoy the things that really matter. I learned that you also get to decide what you want your golf balls to be.

Reminder to slow down
I wish I’d known this meditation asked you to have food available so heads up to others on that. I did appreciate the reminder to savor food and slow down while eating. Many of my meals are eaten alone in front of a computer at work. Regardless of where I eat, I need to pay attention to the food more. It also helps to use high quality ingredients. The sometimes cost more, but I eat less of them.

How the food feels in your hands and looks and smells adds so much to just enjoying the taste, along with being a ware of the wonders of the front end of the digestive process. And to be thankful to have the food and be able to eat at all. Namaste

I guess it is good practice to stop and be mindful of what we are eating. Rather than shovel the food in, take a moment to enjoy what we eat.

What a wonderful way to start a stressful day. I need to be more focused and enjoy what I am eating. My relationship with food is not good. I use it to control my emotions which never works and only makes me feel worse. So today is a new day and a new way to SEE food
