Episode 18: Crossing Brahmaputra As darkness fell, they made their way down to the river. They loaded the people into the boats, and although they only crossed a narrow stretch of river, paddling as hard as they could, it seemed to take an eternity to get the small, heavily laden coracles across. But the boats proved strong and waterproof. To describe how we develop mindfulness and awareness, we can use the expression "touch and go." Touch means that you are in contact, you touch the experience of your sheer, real existence, and then you let go of the experience again. This approach applies to the perception of the breath in meditation as well as to your perception in everyday situations.
