Chapter One

We’re introduced to Winnie-the-Pooh, a bear of very little brain who lives in the Hundred Acre Wood and loves honey above all else. Pooh tries to get honey from a beehive by floating up on a balloon, pretending to be a little black rain cloud. The bees are unconvinced, and Pooh eventually falls. The chapter sets the tone: gentle humor, imagination, and Pooh’s lovable foolishness.
