Struggling
I’m just like the butterfly, struggling to survive. My struggles bring me down sometimes, but I have to do them on my own, grow as a person by myself so I can spread my wings and fly one day. Be free. I have family and friends that want to help with my struggles, Make it easier for me, but they can’t do it for me, be supportive yes. But I have to the work, keep my eyes on the prize, of happiness and love.

Struggle is necessary
If we live an easy life without ever having any challenges, we will remain the same our whole lives. We need struggle to mature and gain wisdom, in the same way that our muscles need to burn a bit in order to become stronger.

Let people grow
I learned that I can’t take on others problems. That me taking control is stunting the growth of the one I love. Thank you for this story, I was the little boy.

Butterfly
It appears so often lately that people will do everything humanly possible to avoid the need to struggle for growth. Growth IS supposed to be difficult. It is only through the struggles of hard work and living life as it is, no matter how difficult, that we are able to grow, reach for, and possibly achieve our full potential. This story is a wonderful reminder, especially during hard times in our personal life.

Helping others
It's good to help others... However sometimes they need to step up and help themselves. There's a healthy balance between helping and doing too much. As this story told doing too much could have a negative outcome. Make time for yourself...you can't help others if you can't help yourself.

Productive Struggle
As a teacher, I know the value of productive struggle in the learning process of individuals and groups, so I monitor students closely to determine when a thoughtfully framed question or words of encouragement may be beneficial. In my own life, too often I veer from productive struggle to spinning without solution or forward movement. I hope to continue to develop mindful practices so that I can remember to breathe, pause, and reset to focus on growth.

Butterfly
This one made me sad because I didn’t want the butterfly to die. So many humans hurt animals, intentionally or unintentionally. Then, I thought about humans and moms like me who didn’t want their children to struggle, but like the boy didn’t think of the growth that struggle brings. Fortunately, the kids don’t die—they just have to wait longer to be allowed to grow. Then, they blossom.
