Many people find they cannot let go of the past. We can feel haunted by it, regret it, feel guilty about it, or even feel trapped by it. This constant presence of the past and negative emotions around it may prevent us from being able to function productively and feeling happy. We can't change the past and think about it constantly will only keep us experiencing more pain. This exercise may help relieve some of the tension, help let it go, and let it be in the past allowing you to live more fulfilled and happy in the now.
