Broad Brushstrokes: The Art of Presence
Andy Hobson
Meditation Teacher and Musician
Yesterday, we used our breath along with acceptance and presence to work with the sensations that come with this. Today, as we awaken to another Winter’s morning, greeted by wind, snow, tea, breakfast, seal pups, and laughter, we’ll explore what it means to be truly present. Presence need not be a solemn practice—it can be a playful art. We’ll open to life and embrace the adventure, even while feeling fear. Together, in meditation, we’ll practice breath awareness, while connecting with our heart with a smile as a way to connect with the seasons in our bodies, embrace vulnerability, and cultivate self-compassion. Tomorrow, we will continue to explore fear, and you will learn ways to take control when it arises.
