Today you’ll learn how body awareness can help you break the stress cycle, step out of thinking, and move towards a sense of calm. The stress cycle begins with an unpleasant event that can trigger our flight, flight, or freeze response. From there we can have negative thoughts which feed emotions. These emotions show up in our bodies as unpleasant sensations and can feed more thoughts and increase our reaction to stressful situations. Mindfulness offers an alternative path by bringing you to the physical experience of stress with a gentle, curious awareness.
