WITHIN Meditation
Meditation Teacher
(Guided by WITHIN Cofounder Hannah Knapp) Bring yourself back to the present moment, using sounds around you as your anchor. Whenever your thoughts wander in meditation, it can be really helpful to have an anchor to bring you back to the present moment. A great anchor you can use anywhere you meditate is the sounds happening around you. This meditation helps you notice sounds and use them as your anchor. In the longer version of this meditation, we use breath as well as sound to bring you back to the present moment and have additional time in silence.

The smell of nothing
I noticed what I must consider my neutral smell- what I think my household smells like at rest. The baseline for my brain alone. Pretty interesting... Namaste

Be present with sound
Good recognition of observing what is present around us and at first identifying each one and then letting that go. Allowing the sounds and whatever else to be there without trying to utilize your mind and think about them.

Sounds
I don’t have to think of the sounds as a distraction, I can just acknowledge them, let them be there and continue on with meditation and breathing. I have been slacking off on my lower back exercises, so I thought I would try doing them to this meditation. It turned out to be the perfect meditation to do something like this. It actually helped me be more focused on my form and kept me relaxed at the same time.

Not at all...
This meditation did nothing for me and helped me not at all. Perhaps it is because my sister in law is very seriously ill at this time, but I found no relief from stress or anxiety in this meditation. I will not be using it again.

Let the sounds wash over me...
Instead of reacting to them. I hope this helps with my misophonia as well.

Heightened senses
Touch heightened today for me when I closed my eyes. The senses- separate, but part of a whole, team effort. Namaste.

Every little things
When you close your eyes it heightened all your senses. And sensitive to every sound and sensation that you hear and feel. An easy way to be present. 😌

Sounds
Even when the room is silent, it’s loud. I found my mind drifting to events in the past and I had to remind myself to stay present. As soon as I came back to the present and listening to the environment around me there was peace. A good reminder for me to stay focused on the NOW.

First Session Reflection
I learned my heart pounds as my anxiety grows- through breathing I can control my physical response to stress. I need to discipline myself to control my breathing when I notice how stressed or anxious I'm becoming.

Coming back
The mind is meant to wander. It is doing its work. Doing this practice is building a muscle of stillness that is counter to the pace and intensity of our daily lives. Understanding it as a muscle to be exercised is helpful to me in moments when the mind wanders and I need to come back to the breath.

cup of coffee
I learned that we can get so carried away with our jobs, houses, bills, e.t.c. that we forget to just live our lifes. What we do for a living doesn't and shouldn't change the quality of our lives. when we decide to let go of all that stress of constantly trying to be perfect, we will find that we are MUCH happier with our lifes.

Sounds
I noticed how much my hearing heightened when I closed my eyes and I couldn't stop hearing new sounds throughout the entire meditation.

Did not care for this session
There was no real learning offered in my opinion and very long pauses in the naration jerked me out if my restful state to make certain that the audio was still playing. (I hate Aura sessions like that!)

Be Present with Sound
I love the sounds in the background of your guided meditation. The challenge is not to name them or make a judgement about them. They trigger memories of favorite places.

Breathing
I learned that by breathing deeply my stress level goes down significantly.

Getting calm in the chaos
I learned that I am used to be a « victim » of my environment by being passive. The noise, the things that are disturbing me... I have to let them pass over me and make my journey through the day calmly.

Be Present With Sound
Thank you for this wonderful meditation. I have been working a lot lately on being present. It is very hard for me. I am always dwelling in the past or on the future. I want to know. I want to control. I need to let go and be....

staying present
It was lot harder for me to stay still and present with this 7-minute meditation. I have a very busy mind and I want to work on easily staying in the moment.

Within Medication
I was so sleepy, so stressed, and had a recurring backache before doing this medication. The bird sounds and the guided meditation speaker in the medication made me feel so much better. I recommend anyone to do this when you feel sleepy, stressed, have a backache, or whatever you are facing in school or work right now.

I noticed how much I didn't stress today. I feel very chill even with finals next week.

Judging sounds
A good intention for the day, to be aware when I’m judging what I’m experiencing through all my senses. (I hear the cat tap tap tapping across the floor, and I immediately think: oh, I’m skipping, I really need to clip his nails...). Namaste

The noisy quiet
So many sounds actually, when I think I’m in stillness. A lesson in there for the day. Namaste

My meditation
I find a safety in meditation. By listening to sounds around me without judgement, I'm here but not part of the world. I am not a part of the stresses.

Be present. Do not label. Just be at peace and listen. Allow

Sensing 🧘🏻‍♀️😌
Closing your eyes will enable you to activate your other senses. Thus, you will taste, hear, and feel a significant amount of objects in your atmosphere that you haven't noticed before. Closing your eyes shuts off your perception for a moment so you can open your heart's senses to different sensibilities. 👁👃🏼👁👂🏼 👅 ♥️

Lauren's meditations are my most favorite.
Her meditations alwys seem so timely for me. Ironically today we are being blown around by high sustained winds and she touched on how the winds that surround you can be calmed by your own breath.... calm measured breathing. Today I will be calm against my wind anxiety... because i am learning.

Being Present 🛎
I couldn’t help thinking about Aura partner, Walter, during this 7 minute meditation. The meditation begins and ends with a chime. You aren’t forewarned of the beginning chime, but you are forewarned that you are coming to the end before the ending chime. I enjoyed the chimes; however I found my mind wandering more than usual during the meditation. I am not sure if it was because of being unable to relax fully into the meditation or if the meditation simply didn’t resonate.

I learned that by letting the sounds wash over me, my body and mind took a calming pause and I created space in my life for a few moments. Really peaceful meditation.

Closing the Eyes
I’ve never really thought about how much more in tune with my senses I am when I close my eyes. I have terrible vision already, but it’s able to be corrected, and I rely on it so much. By closing the eyes, we can find our way through the world in a much different manner, and find our balance.

Emotions
That I need to be more present in the lives of my children and myself and forgot about other’s issues. I just need to do it! Not dwell on the past hurt and pain I’ve been handed to me. That is not my hurt and pain it is theirs that they have given to me.

Living in the moment
There is a great deal in being present in the moment! Pausing those racing thoughts and noticing everything around you at the moment. Hopefully there would be so much to be grateful for

Awareness
This meditation gave me awareness of my surroundings that we ignore when we are stressed. I will definitely be replaying this more times. I tend to stress when things get unfamiliar. This helped me calm myself.
