This practice is about pointing our attention towards the sense of sight; exploring and strengthening our capacity to become aware of our environment through our eyes.

Slowing down and seeing
I woke with a list of things to do as always; went straight to checking the list but I'm glad I took this time to sit down and gain more awareness of my surrounding. To slow down and really see what's around me. I'm heading out for a nice coastal walk soon. This helps to remind me to take it all in later and not be too focused on the destination.

I learned that my sight can give me mindfulness and awareness of my everyday surroundings even from the mundane shadows I don’t usually recognize.

Ofcourse sight!
Seems so obvious but sight is often overlooked in meditation, but it has such potential for mindfulness training. Take in every detail of the world around us. Colour, texture, size, shape, position, direction etc. the more detail observed, the more knowledge and beauty absorbed

Around me.
As I am living, so is the world. Awareness, or lack thereof, does not determine existence.

First meditation with jessica
At the very least she learned it helps to take your mind in a different direction. Gives your mind something else to focus on, you don't freak out. So you can breathe. In the midst of a panic attack... it could help you. Helping others, I think she downloaded it :)

Awareness of sight.
I learnt that this “awareness of sight” meditation practice is highly beneficial to anxiety attacks to the point that you actually smell a scent of roses. And I’m not metaphorically speaking. Because anxiety has a smell to it, I know cause I get them when I forget to breath long enough, and once I realize I wasn’t breathing then that idea on it’s own causes the anxiety attack. And if I’m lucky enough to remember this practice then I press play. And quickly..... it goes away without escalating.....?! I know it’s hard to believe. Because most of us during an anxiety attack is busy trying to breath. And simply finding it hard to remember anything about this practice.

Any place anytime
Even though she references the outside i did the meditation in my dorm, in front of the window before i began my day of classes and it honestly helped me start off positive. I found myself walking to class looking at my surroundings more, looking up at the sky and the squirrels in the trees. This meditation helped me see beauty and bring my anxiety levels down.

Sight
I appreciated looking at how the light cast shadows. I don’t do that very often indoors. Also, picking out something I see every day but have never really looked at. And “seeing” what’s behind u-I could see it! Namaste

It’s necessary to take a good look at what is around you. Tuning in to the detail of God’s creation helps with being more appreciative of what’s around you.

Glasses
Mostly I do not wear glasses after I come home. With this meditation it is still ok. Awareness through and to the side of glasses is different, but this is ok.

Awareness of sight
This was an excellent meditation for me. I’m notorious for not noticing my surroundings. Many years ago, I complimented a friend’s new chair. She told me she got it 6 months ago. Just today, I commented on a sign my granddaughter made for the nurses. When she asked if I’d seen the other one, I hadn’t! I will use this meditation again to remind me to be aware of my sight and the benefits of it. Thank you!!

Light
Even laying in bed, looking at simple objects around me, I learned that even things like artificial light have a strange beauty to them. Truly focusing in on everyday objects with various lights and shadows cast upon them truly showed me the beauty I take for granted.

Visuals
Being aware of seeing is not to be taken for granted. Continue to open myself to seeing what GOD has blessed me with and experience vision as opposed to just looking at a view.

Devoting time for presentness

Awareness is strength
This was a really powerful practice for me. I liked the change in meditation by having your eyes open, and realizing macro to micro. I also like how this practice guided you through WY awareness is important, and awareness is not just being aware of your practice or your body… It’s also of your site your mind and your surroundings. Very awesome start to my day!

My bedroom is not the place to do this meditation as I am too familiar with everything in it. The meditation itself is quite beautiful and it has reminded me to use all of my fields of vision. There is so very much that is overlooked. I need to be more mindful and see the intricacies of the larger world outside my own world. 🌷🙏

If I were to ever do this meditation again,
I would make sure I was in a space that was worth looking at. Not my small and messy den . This was, sadly, my least favorite meditation 😟

Light and shadows
Today I learned to focus, to see wide. I noticed the beauty of shadows , the texture of the objects around me. I learned that I can look outside myself within my own home. I remember that I have a great life, that my stress is something I can control.

Awareness
I’m going to practice awareness training more. It will allow me to take in all the great things I miss on a daily basis because I choose to overlook them. I need to bring my focus in on the things around me and that are important to me.

Great reminder of truly being present and observant in our environment. It will allow us to be more perceptive. We will truly see the world around us. Our sense of sight is a gift that we should not squander rather recognize its importance and revel in it!

Thundering Thursday 4-12-18
Thank you, Dea for that inspirational meditation. Here I was to see everything around me from being on the inside. The sun was shining in so the light was was bright. I had colorful backgrounds going on from the muted tv. On the table, I had array of colors from punks and purples and a light blue. On the floor is a tan color and in the middle of the room is big, piece of black furniture. This was a great way to use your senses. Nice meditation! Have a nice day Everyone!😀

Sight
A simple and exciting exercise in being mindful. In my classes I have talked to my students about wandering in ‘mind space ‘ and exploring- instead of texting frantically (between classes, recess etc.) for companionship.... This will be a good exercise for teenagers in classes. Deal gives a beautiful presentation!

Awareness of Sight
This meditation teaches you to be aware of your sense of sight. We often overlook minor details in our surroundings; the textures and the shapes of what you are looking at. By the end of this meditation, you learn to truly open your eyes and be grateful for the sense of sight!

Awareness of Sight
In today’s lesson we all can learn a thing or two about being aware of our surroundings and everything around us. In life sometimes we get to busy to notice everything that is around us whether that be the plants or flowers around us or even what we have. It is okay to take time to look at everything around you because eventually we will get busy again and forget about everything
