Sadly, a lot of people wake up each morning and continue to go through the motions of life. They may be considered successful, especially by society’s standards, but they feel they are missing something. That something is drive. In this life coaching session, Dave gives us five tips to master that will increase our drive and thus, enable us to live life to the fullest.
The first tip is staying true to who we are. While it is good to recognize any limiting beliefs we may have and strategies to quiet our inner critic, we don’t have to completely change who we are in order to live life to the fullest. The second tip is focusing on what we want to achieve. By mapping out which path we want to take, we do two things. We make it easier to set short and long term goals and we realize that some goals require action now while others will take some time to achieve. To fully live life to the fullest requires us to step out of our comfort zone. This leads to tip three. We need to take calculated risks. Life is about having new experiences, not ones that we relive over and over again. Tip four requires us to do some soul searching of what we love to do and begin to be a master at it. This gives us confidence and teaches us two things; we don’t have to have everything in life and with hard work, we can have what we love. Finally, the fifth and the most important tip of them all, have fun. Instead of doing things just to check them off some list, we need to be having fun while doing them. This is where mindfulness comes in. Being mindful, we utilize all of our senses into what we are doing. Quieting the chatter in our mind allows us to fully experience this act of doing. Thus, we can find joy in even the most mundane of tasks.
