This practice fosters self-acceptance and a welcoming in of ourselves just as we are in the present moment. We tend to be hard on ourselves when our true nature is actually asking for kindness for ourselves. Self-kindness involves treating yourself with care, especially in moments of suffering, rather than harsh self-criticism. Mindfulness is the practice of observing your emotions and experiences in the present moment without judgment. Being present with your emotions and thoughts without getting swept away by them. Mindfulness allows you to observe your pain in a balanced way, without exaggerating it or suppressing it. This meditation may be used as a daily practice.
