Oftentimes when we are stressed, or anxious, we are disconnected from ourselves and our external world - almost as though our head is like a balloon floating above us, disconnected and unaware of our body and surroundings. In this meditation we practice awareness shifting, first observing our external environment, and our relationship to the external world, and shifting into our internal state. This shows us that we can access these different layers of awareness at any time and experience the soothing, peaceful relaxation being totally present can bring.

This meditation helps us shift our awareness from external to internal, allowing us to experience relaxation and be fully present in the moment.

Cultivating Deeper Awareness Meditation

In Yoga philosophy, there are five layers, or sheaths of our being, known as Koshas. These sheaths, like layers of an onion, embody our physical form inward toward our soul. When we can balance these layers into harmony with one another, we establish an inner unity that brings wholeness and internal calm into our lives. In this meditation, we explore the five layers through body scanning, and self-inquiry and practice the shift into deeper levels of awareness of our being. This is a beautiful practice to become more connected to oneself and learn to truly embody the state of bliss.

Through the exploration of the five layers of our being, yoga meditation helps us to establish inner unity and bring calm and wholeness to our lives.
