Very Vivid, But Disturbing
I don't want to focus on my churning belly - makes me feel nauseated! I think she does a great job creating a very focusing and vivid mindfulness session, but I found this one creeped me out for some reason and stopped listening halfway through, when she got to the churning belly.

During the Wind meditation, I learned how to focus more on my breathing and how it makes my overall body feel. I learned through this session that it is important to focus on our breaths and how it makes our entire body feel when engaging in our breathing and the pace in which we do it.

Although I have a hard time keeping my mind focused on the breathing, I still find meditations to be helpful. Maybe in these moments where I can’t focus, I just need a quiet space to sort through my thoughts. Meditation doesn’t always have to be about clearing the mind, but maybe it’s about giving our minds the freedom to just be.

Just like the earth needs wind, I need breath. I thought of the wind in my body as my blood, it flows all around my body but ultimately ends and starts at my heart.

Hard to Visualize
It was hard to really connect to the descriptions of the wind, although my trouble with focus wasn’t helped by my room mates coming home and making noise halfway through the session. I also find it hard to stay with the guided meditation if there is no soft music or background noise to accompany the words, so the silence between sentences was uncomfortable for me.

Visualizing the wind was easy until I needed to visualize it going down my legs. For some reason I couldn’t figure out how to focus it downward. I feel like I’d benefit more from this being a longer session. I came out of this feeling the same way I need going in.

This was a confusing meditation at juxtaposition with my thoughts about wind. When I envision wind, I can feel my hair being tossed about in the wind, or a breeze gently caressing my skin. A cold north wind that causes my teeth to chatter or a wind from the south that warms my skin. I don’t think of winds going down my legs into the ground?

One of my favourite meditations. I felt really connected to my body. I noticed like some kind of electricity running through when I became conscious of different parts. I feel so relaxed after that.
