Welcome to the third episode in this series on the Niyamas. Niyama is a Sanskrit word that translates as “rules, guidelines, or observances.” Niyamas appear in Hindu and Buddhist texts, and they are best known as the second limb of the eight limbs of yoga, as described in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Tapas ~ or self-discipline, austerity, perseverance, burning enthusiasm ~ describes a spirit of ‘fierce grace’. Tapas is the encouragement to tap into your inner fire as what you draw from ~ as a discipline to transform yourself into something else. Join me in this auspicious practice! Where in your life will you be more disciplined? Sending you great love... Dorothy
