If we feel stressed or anxious, we carry tension in the body and this can build up as we add layers of bracing around it. By deliberately softening these layers of resistance and tension, we can help the body feel more comfortable and release mental tension too.

Releasing
Exercising regularly (at least for this past week) has allowed me to be more in-tune with my body. However, this meditation made me realize that I have more work to do, since my shoulders and feet still hold a significant amount of tension. Learning to care, accept, and embrace myself, one step at a time, while also striving to improve and grow to be better than before.

Take a break
I noticed to take note of the tension in my body and that I have to give my body a break and time to rest

Good lunch break
I was a little stressed by my students today as the nice weather has them focused on everything but school. This was a welcome bit of relaxation for the middle of the day.

Softening
Embracing sadness seems so strange. Instinctually we protect ourselves and try to block it out. But to hold the pain, and treat it tenderly—to treat yourself tenderly—brings openness and healing. A softer heart full of love.

Helping out a toxic mom.
I’ve been helping her since I was 4 years old....I’m 33 now. (yes, I was like a tiny adult as a child) I cut toxic people out of my life a long time ago, what can I do when it’s my own Mom? I love her so much and she needs help... It is really draining on me and there is so much negativity in her home.

I liked the word softening. Although I had a hard time relaxing tonight. Such a bad day, but breathing and saying softening will be something I take with me.

This helped me relax the tension in my stomach. That’s where I tend to feel a lot of anxiety. I still have a lot of anxiety because of an important final tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll be able to relax

Neck release
I tend to get a lot of tensions in my beck,,shoulders and upper back. Focusing there helped me feel healing in these areas. Combined with stretching, this is great for releasing stress.

Taking a moment to soften
Softening is a wonderful way to reduce tension. During the day when I take a mindful moment I use this technique. This was really helpful. It was helpful to hear Jiva repeat the word soften. This will help me remember to take as moment as I go through the day to stop and release tension from my muscles.

I really like this meditation. It helps me to remember the completely relaxed feeling that I have while I am meditating.
