Hugging ๐Ÿค— is loving
I wanted to try this out although I wasn't feeling particularly anxious or unsettled. It's always good to give yourself some self-love and contact through hugging is one of the best ways I have found to feel close and connected to others so why not myself? It felt good and what surprised me was the release I felt about 2/3 of the way through. Like I said, it is always good to give yourself some love โค๏ธ You never know how much you need it!

I realized that i don't have enough physical contact with myself. It felt safe and comforting. The teachers voice was soothing. I'll try to remember to use this practice more often. ๐ŸŒทโค๏ธ

Hugs are a great way to give and receive love from others. But now I learned that I can give love to myself any time wrapping my arms around my body. It works!

Not a hugger
I thought the "self hug" of the title was more metaphorical than physical, so this didn't really work for me- I dislike hugs and certainly holding myself that way. Thanks anyway.

I feel uncomfortable hugging people I donโ€™t know very well. But Iโ€™m very comfortable hugging myself.

Hugs heal
We all need a hug from time to time. Human touch is becoming a rarity. We crave touch and closeness. Itโ€™s important for us to give and receive touch. But we must know how to receive. A body knows when itโ€™s receiving a touch from a body that wants to give and a body knows when itโ€™s touching a body that wants to be touched. We need to be able to give and receive to ourselves.
