Compassion for myself???
I have never thought to give compassion to myself. I give compassion to everyone else so why not myself?! What a wonderful gift to myself.
Self compassion - my perspective ❤️
All you give to everyone needs to be given to you first, it is not being selfish, it is "you can’t give what you don’t have" ❤️🙏🏼
Really needed this
I found this really useful even when it was hard for me to focus my mind because I’m upset right now. But by gently guiding myself back to her voice over and over I managed to find some calmness and clarity through the exercise.
Problem solving
I definitely do that, jump right into problem solving before I even fully and clearly understand the situation
Self Compassion
How would you soothe a crying child? Offer that same compassion to yourself. Try to sit with your problem before problem solving it. See how it makes you feel. It’s frustrating when we can’t express our problems and have others listen but rather just offer solutions.
I don't really practise self compassion and that I need to start acknowledging when painful or difficult emotions are coming up for me. Acknowledgement is the first step to self compassion.
