We often react to events and situations that we later end up feeling sorry for. You can learn to respond to situations with clarity, empathy, and patience. This helps avoid unnecessary pain and disappointment and leads to a much calmer and happier life for us and others.

Respond Intelligently
Whether we react positively or negatively to a situation, one thing is for sure, they occur automatically. Letting go of reacting requires awareness. In this meditation, Karuna has us explore how we react to different things and tells us how we can be more responsive in our lives going forward. Becoming aware of my breath, I noticed how my belly filled with air, ballooning outwardly and softened, letting air out. Such a calming way to become present. As I continued, thoughts of my upcoming day entered my mind. Becoming aware of these thoughts, I brought my attention back to my breath in my belly. As thoughts came back into my mind, I paused, stepped back and observed these thoughts. Then I turned inward and got in touch with my feelings. Just like with thoughts, feelings come, stay and go away. I have realized that instead of reacting right away, I can take a pause, become aware of my breath and then proceed with clarity and calm that the the present moment gives me. This way I can respond intelligently rather than reacting mindlessly. Responding intelligently rather than reacting mindlessly requires effort on our part to be aware and present at all times. Itโ€™s not easy, but it can be done. Just think...our interactions with others will be much better and the world will be a better place because of it. We Can respond intelligently rather than react mindlessly! Namaste ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค๏ธโ˜ฎ๏ธ
