Even 3 minutes of mindfulness meditation can be beneficial, especially if it is on a daily basis. It is better to meditate daily for a few minutes than a long meditation every few days with no practice in between days

All the exercises I've been doing here have benefited me, and today is no different. I started this journey because of a journey I had already started. That quest is one of weight loss. I don't want to be a downer right now or cast a dark shadow, but simply put... if I don't lose this weight I'm going to die. I'm 200 pounds overweight, and I've been dieting and working out quite a bit lately. My first goal of 50lbs of weight loss was set on Father's Day for my birthday September 23, and I know that I'm going to reach it. Actually I believe I may have surpassed it. Based on 4 weeks ago I had lost 33 lbs and had over six weeks to lose 17lbs. When I've been averaging about 4 lbs a week. What this exercise did for me was show me how to use dynamic tension which still exercises my muscles and at the same time relax them and put me in a good headspace. I'm a believer that all things are mental, all wars no matter what are fought in the mind.

I’ve noticed in yoga classes, while driving, while at work, etc. that I tend to carry a lot of excess tension, particularly in my face. I think this muscle relaxation exercise will be a good one for me to incorporate into my practice because it’s a good reminder to RELAX. You don’t realize how tense you are until after this exercise. I carry so much tension in my neck and shoulders, this helps so much. Also great right before bed.

Take this opportunity to acknowledge everything you do, and allow yourself to feel the weight of your struggle. Appreciate yourself for being strong enough to bear it. Then breathe it out. Hello my fellow meditators, I felt as my muscles tensed as I did so (while instructed) and could really feel the relief as I let go and just rested😌. On the bad side the voice of this female was not really relating and I felt quite awake and not as relaxed as I usually am on these meditations on aura. For this meditation...was too guides for me and it wasn’t really relaxing tensing muscles 💪

Interesting technique
I had never thought of using this technique before. I often find it hard to relax certain muscles when meditating. By tensing them even harder and then actively relaxing on the outbreath I now feel much more relaxed.

Interesting session. Upon engaging and flexing the different groups of muscles I heard & felt some pops & cracks as muscles and joints realigned themselves. A few fleeting sensations of what we typically might call pain and then ‘pop’ all good. By the end, I felt very relaxed physically, connected spiritually and engaged mentally. ❤️💪🏼🍀

I thought about this meditation as being silly, for how should we squeeze our faces in such a funny way? As the meditation transpired, I realized of how much good it was doing: the moment I would release tension from my muscles, from my body, I felt the difference immediately -the relaxing effect it gave me almost instantly is inexplicable. I started crying because this is exactly how our mind gets when we’re stressing over anything, not realizing on the negative effects it does... and instead on clinging into those emotions to just let go.

As soon as this began, I instantly wished I had skipped it! Lol. Then, Lindy started it perfectly for me by saying I could sit or stand or lie down. Yay! I love freedom of choice. In this meditation I learned that I can relax my muscles by deliberately tightening and relaxing different muscle groups in my body. I found this process very effective helping me to relax. No this was not only true when I went through the accident of relaxing and tensing my muscles, but also in the moments in between tenants in my muscle groups why no observed how the tension and relaxation felt in my body. I was in pain before I started with meditation. This went along way in reducing the pain. I will definitely use this meditation when I need to relax my body and increase my mental awareness Of which areas of my body tight and which are relaxed.
