This meditation uses imagery to help you begin to cultivate kindness towards yourself and can help you feel more peaceful. Please note: If you are struggling with your mental health it's really important to seek professional help. These meditations are not a substitute for that but can be used along side therapy to help to support you. For more on Carla-Jo and her work please see www.carlajo-mindfulness.com

Seeing it, feeling it
Found it very useful to attach an image or a tangible sensation to a feeling of calm

Sunshine
I had forgotten how rays of sunshine could feel on my body much less radiate from within my heart. I have been in a raging storm of depression for so long. This helped me to remember. Some things I want to forget but this I need to remember.

Focus
I was already really stressed with the day from the Chaos of the morning and the thought of the rest of the things I need to accomplish today. I honestly don’t usually want to stop and do the Aura meditation but I always feel better after I do. now I’m just going focus on one thing at a time and get everything done today and have a good day

Sunday heat
This mediations reminded me of when I was a kid and church would be hot but I love it! After church lunch would always be in an air conditioned room and I froze. So when we finally went home I would run out to the car and sit in the hundred degree car warming myself up until my family came out to "air out the heat" from the car. I would be crushed that I had to go back to a cooler environment but always appreciated those few minutes of heat to myself. All I could picture during this meditation was sitting locked in the hot car staring up at my parents and brother soaking in the day. This was a good memory for me, this meditation started my day off right.

Chaos
Another day of chaos. Another shooting taking innocent lives. I don’t know how to respond anymore. So I sat, and imagined the sun beams on my body. Brought my awareness inward. Sometimes I feel that is all I can do, is be here. The chaos of the world, in all of its inevitability, is right outside our door. Cultivating peace in my heart could possibly allow my everyday actions to touch others. That is why we must continue to do this daily; to heal amongst the chaos. The world is chaos. Compassion is our only true weapon.

Self love is the key
I️ learned that no matter how stressed out I️ get from working full time and going to school full time that everything is for a reason. I️ have to keep my goals in mind but more importantly I️ have to love myself as well.

I was reminded why I love sunshine so much-- it's glow and warmth makes me feel better. Here's to sunny days! ☀️

Day 2
It does not take much to remove myself from the chaos. I can find a quiet place to change what I feel.

Warmth
The physical radiation of warmth throughout my body completely surprised me. Mind over body, or spirit over all else?
