Oftentimes when we are stressed, or anxious, we are disconnected from ourselves and our external world - almost as though our head is like a balloon floating above us, disconnected and unaware of our body and surroundings. In this meditation we practice awareness shifting, first observing our external environment, and our relationship to the external world, and shifting into our internal state. This shows us that we can access these different layers of awareness at any time and experience the soothing, peaceful relaxation being totally present can bring.
