Refocusing...
When our thoughts seem to be going from this to that, to that to this, like two people playing ping pong in our mind, we can start to feel drained and even stressed. In this way, our body will react negatively and quite possibly open us to getting dis-ease. That is why it is imperative that we give ourselves a break from our thoughts from time to time. In this third installment of a three part series, Cassandra gives us a way in which we can give our brain a break by focusing on the palms of our hands. After settling in and getting comfortable, I shut my eyes and began focusing on the palms of my hands. At first, my many thoughts were fighting for my attention and therefore, I found it difficult to focus on the palms of my hands. But, the more I redirected my awareness to the palms of my hands rather than my thoughts, I began to feel sensations, such as warmth and tingling arise. Refocusing even more on the palms of my hands and I began to feel them pulsate to the beat of my own heartbeat. With such lovely sensations arising, it became easy for me to remain focused on the palms of my hands rather than my thoughts. Our thoughts can quite literally, take over our entire lives if we allow them to. By first becoming an observer of our thoughts and then redirecting our awareness from thoughts to the palms of our hands is just one more way that Cassandra says will help us give our brain a much needed break. Periodically giving our brain a much needed break from our thoughts not only can improve our focus and perhaps give us a new perspective, but can also improve our overall well-being. If you ask me, it’s a win-win situation for all of us! Namaste 🙏🏻❤️☮️
