A great way to start my Friday. 😊
I learned that no matter how often my attention wanders I can just gently bring it back to the moment. I really enjoyed the gentle cues that brought my focus back to my body. I learned to appreciate the thoughts that seem so important and so badly want attention while also letting them go and returning my awareness to the present. 😊

A wonderful, quick self-reconnect
It's pretty amazing how just taking three minutes breathe and do something like a body scan can help get you out of your head, reconnecting with your inner peace. For myself, this is especially helpful when I find my mind beginning to swirl with anxiety or frustration. With only three minutes doing a quick body scan, you can snap yourself back to the present moment and continue your day with renewed energy and confidence.

I take my body for granted. Every bit of it. Of course, I know I have a face, legs, arms, ten toes, and ten fingers, but I never take time to appreciate them and sit to listen to how my body feels. I definitely feel more aware now.

Re-connecting with the body through body scanner allows you to focus on the well being of your body and how it relates to your mind and spirit. If your mind, body and spirit are not aligned you will not be centered or grounded for a positive day! So take time and be still and focus on your body and how it feels.

It's been 11 days in a row that I've felt well. I haven't had a bad day, I've felt good in myself (despite the fact I've just caught a cold). I haven't been meditating a lot but I do find it relaxing. I have also been writing a diary about my bad days and about my good days and I find it really helpful. I think the hardest struggle with mental health is the fact that it is really difficult to confide in others about it as no one really understands what each single person is suffering as everyone is different, I find writing it down helps a lot because it is as if you are talking to someone, and you can open up more. I really recommend any sufferers to give it ago.

Be happy
I’ve started to learn the difference between trying to stop my mind of thinking and letting my mind think and identify why my mind goes to certain places. Anger has always been an issue for me and I’m learning that while my initial reaction is anger at other people it truly stems from myself. I get angry when people do things that I would have done or being annoyed because they don’t think about how it affects me. I’m not the center of their universe just as they aren’t the center of mine. I can choose to not be angry and be happy.

I love scanning the body mentally. First learned this in hot yoga. Keeping the mind engaged on the body while at the same time relaxing the body caused lightness and an eventual drifting away... Ready to sleep. Thank you.

I learned that it’s okay to do something even though your first reaction might be to skip it. I’m not sure why I typically don’t like stuff to do with the body. I don’t know how to skip a meditation, so I went ahead and did it. I didn’t go into it with a negative attitude or with a positive attitude, just wanting to do it. I actually liked it and felt better at the end. The nice thing I notice about these meditations is that they always end before you expect them to and I feel ready to do another one!

At the end of this session the meditator thanked me for taking the time to reconnect. It had came to my attention that, that was what I was doing within myself. I am learning to reconnect within myself spiritually. Thus, I will be able to ground trenches within me instead of the previous worldly soil.

There will always be people out there that want to hurt you
There will always be people out there that want to hurt you, be it mentally, physically, or emotionally. Once I get over the initial shock, I try to process the why. But in the end I need to protect me. It doesn’t do me any good to dwell on the person or his actions. I need to know I am a good person and I need to take the proverbial high road.

Auto Pilot Disconnect
I am human. I’ve had severe PTSD that began in my Mother’s womb. In order to survive every type of abuse in my childhood - disconnecting my brain from the horrible torture my body was inflicted with was the only way to survive. For 31 years the strongest neuropath has been in flight mode. The past 5 years have been a slow conscious awakening. I’m so grateful that my thoughts and emotions no longer get to orchestrate my life. I have a choice now to open my world and life to the experience of connection. As I connect with myself and am learning mindfulness- I’m awakening my true self. My life is no longer a self fulfilled prophecy of reenacting my childhood. I’m so grateful for this app- it reminds me that I’m no longer a victim and have the choice to rewrite my life. Thank you for making this app available for free- because it’s giving me the opportunity to change my own life.

Body scans are my favorite
Throughout my practices, I’ve always enjoyed the benefits of a body scan. Until you do a body scan, you never realize how hard the body is working even when you think you’re resting. Working from top to bottom you can feel the places that hold tension, clenched teeth, shoulders tense. It’s a great way to give your body an opportunity to let go! I like to picture healthy oxygen filled blood coursing through the body parts as i scan. If i feel any pain or tension, I give a little more time to that body part. Its like thanking each part of your body for all its hard work!

This meditation invites us to do a check up on ourselves. We live in every day in a constant rush -there are always things to be done, so it’s important to see how are WE doing; how do WE feel, etc. Take a moment to slow down & feel/sense each part of your body. Your body is your temple & you have to check if the foundation is solid.

I can never really notice any sensation at the crown of my head or top of my head. I’ll have to continue focusing on that. I enjoy checking in with the body and doing a scan; I wish this was longer than 3 minutes! Tuning in to the body helps me release tension and have a better posture.
