In this series of five episodes, we dive into each of the five Yamas of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Yama is a Sanskrit word that translates as 'restraint'. Yamas are 'moral vows' and 'moral disciplines' that guide us in how we may best act towards ourselves, others, nature, and the world. Here we discuss the first Yama ~ Ahimsa ~ or Nonviolence and the sacred practices that support a life of nonviolence beginning with how we treat ourselves. To live peacefully you need to practice nonviolence. If you have been curious about how to embody the universal teachings of Yoga as a way of living life, please join me. Namaste!

Love compassion nonviolence
This spoke to me in a way that I could never have imagined. My life has seemed out of control recently dealing with ptsd and mental health issues. I now feel like I can gain control. I understand the need to love and have more compassion for myself. Thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป โค๏ธ
