Useful
I noticed that I’ve heard this story before but that I think a lot of the people in my life could benefit from practicing leaving their problems in the past where they belong.

Burdens
Sometimes we carry our burdens with us longer than we should. I know I am guilty of this. It becomes a heavy weight to carry around. This short story teaches us that we should let go of things.

Wish it was that easy!
My burdens are proving too much to leave behind. I wish I could! Honestly! In my ongoing saga of attempting to obtain my permanent disability benefit from Social Security following my massive stroke, I can’t seem to get them to shake lose my promised settlement! I've been told many different stories of why I haven't been paid, and how I’ll just need to show patience. But my wife and children and I NEED that settlememt!NOW. I've recently, on the advice of my lawyer, been in contact with my Congressman for assistance. I await word on if he’ll be of any help to me at all, but I'm not holding my breath!

Carrying the Past
Unlike it is explained in this story, I find it a lot harder to let things go, especially when it comes to people. I will continue trying to improve this now. It will be a long journey, but I know I can do it. :)

Letting Things Go
Before I started meditating I always had trouble letting the smallest and unimportant things go; I would let this thing bother all day and it would make me miserable and moody. Now I understand the importance of just letting things go it’ll make you feel happier and calmer

Carrying things
I do carry things that are not serving me. Letting go is getting easier. My mind feels free. I am much lighter now.

Helping the body forget/release
Ha- I thought the other monk was going to scold him for not teaching how to cross on her own- the actual scold was a good twist. A good reminder we need to release our body as well as our mind. Namaste
