Sometimes meditation or breathing techniques just don't cut it. Sometimes we need something much simpler to ground our mind and system. Something for your inner child. I found that kids' stories can help us to create safety and a welcome distraction from what is stressing us. I think these types of stories are so effective in grounding us because they create what Dr. Peter Levine calls 'Islands of Safety'.
